Steering problems !!!

Just a little help if you could guys...

I went for a drive over the moors yesterday in my 2004 widetrack import and was doing around 60mph when i hit quite a large bump and lost my steering going into the next corner.

Didnt lose it completely but it was enough to make me nearly not make the corner, the steering went still all of a sudden and would turn but took some serious effort!

any help would be great, Thanks

Any fluids under the car? Sounds like the PS has failed following the impact

No, not had any leaks in the week i have owned it.

A friend mentioned that if the wheels came off the floor at all it could have been the differential winding up making it super hard to turn? not sure about this though...

Has the steering returned to normal now?

Are you sure its not just the front diff that's fighting you?

if it is then imprezas should have never been allowed on sale :D haha

The steering was gone mate, had to slam on otherwise i would have gone off the road.

Gonna have a good check over the PAS system tonight as ive totally lost confidence in the car now

when you hit the bump could some debris or something off the road fly up and get lodged in the steering?
I had something get wrapped around my drive shaft once, made an awful noise until if fell off. The rubbish that is not the drive shaft!!

That would explain it very well if it was mate, felt like something got trapped in the steering knuckle then fell out
