how to tell the difference in genuine and fake turbo?
 

Ive been looking to upgrade my td04 turbo on my blob eye to either a v34 or v35 and have come across something strange. After doing my research if concluded that these turbos will cost me probably around £400+ which will obviously be second hand and they are rare to get hold of. For my living i have a ebay store where i sell various accessories and electrical items which i import from china. On my trading website with suppliers in china i have come across traders selling vf34 and vf35 turbos for sale which are brand new and come with warranty. Now they are selling quite cheap around £300 or can get from suppliers in japan for £350 brand new. I'm just thinking whether they there is anything like a fake turbo as china will replicate anything but not sure about the turbos. is there anything i should look out for in particular to see whether they are genuine or fake? They have confirmed that its a IHI vf35 turbo with serial number on it and same for the vf34. Any help on this?

Have you googled the seller for reviews?

Ive tried that buddy but not much information. They mainly just sell turbo chargers and similar other stuff hence makes me think they specialise in it. Wish it was like a ebay feedback system they used to see buyer feedbacks but on this trading website there isn't anything like that. They take paypal as a method of payment so i'm thinking i should be covered through them for any counterfeit goods.

Buy cheap... buy twice!

I'd be buying a good second hand genuine unit from the UK if I were you. VF43 & VF48 are practically the same as the VF35 so all will fit.
