Have you checked you still have the A/C unit under the bonnet? I've seen loads of cars with it removed to make way for upgraded this and that.

How long is bit of string really... It could go pop like it is or you could add 150bhp and it will run fine. What ever you decide to do gets lots or advice and get it done by somebody who knows what they are doing. Then keep looking after it properly and it should last you. If you want to add another 50-70bhp that should be achievable without a massive risk but again its a complete unknown. Obviously if you go trying to get 400bhp out of it you are asking for trouble on the 20 year old standard engine.

Early car isn't it?
Drivers footwell, have a look up beside the center console area. There are some push rod things, one may have become unattached. http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i7...614_204036.jpg |

320bhp is a nice figure on an old classic, easily done, relatively safe and not too expensive, add a few handling mods, decent tyres, brakes and a good geo set up.
Then learn to drive it. :thumb: |

Classic sti top mount will see you to 320bhp along with injectors and a fuel pump, not sure what turbo you have but something like a vf 28/ td05 18g will see that I believe, both cheap and loads available.
As for the learning to drive it, i'm serious these are a lot quicker than most think but only if it's set up right and you get the hang of backing it into corners, you'll be able to dust a lot of the fwd cars that are re-nound for having a good chassis and you don't need loads of power to do it either, it's all about understanding the dynamics of the chassis and awd system. |
