Hi All

Just a quick note.. went onto the Scooby net chat room earlier only to find a chap by the name of Simon de Sideways telling everyone about his Lotus!

Webmaster... Any chance of providing password security?

Cheers

Simon

Ian, i would just like to add that i abuse people under my OWN ID!...lol

I think we need to consider that a very much lighter and hugely comical atmosphere is present on the chat site.

It was I who very briefly adopted the Simon De sideways monica (the board actually shows wh has changed to which name).

It was very funny, Simon consequently changed his name to Mike Tuckwood and made a confession which was probably more accurate than I would care to admit. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

The point Simon makes is relevant though, access should be via subscription and revelation of all details in the chat room profile section or not at all.

It hasn't happened yet, but utter carnage will ensue if people go on unchecked using other peoples names.

Mike.

Yep, I will be chatting to Phil about this, especially after someone using David Powers ID was on there last night, who obviously wasnt him, and we have had several people on there just going on to abuse people too, hopefully this will stop.

Gotcha - Yes I was Sally the sheep er... I mean Mike Rainbird for a few minutes. I enjoyed having all that virtual horsepower. Sorry Mike R if that would have upset you. It is fun being someone else for a short period of time but I agree it could lead to all sorts of misunderstandings !!!

Hi Mike

Yes that was very funny, but... It wasn't you... This happened later. I have no idea who it was. Feenz was on also and said he was there when Simon de Sideways arrived and thought it was me.

No harm done on this occasion, but I would hate for a misunderstanding to start people thinking I'm a to$$er. I prefer my real actions to do that!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

You're right though.. we should make sure it doesn't get stuffy, but I don't think the passwords have made the BBS stuffy?

Nice one Webmaster, hope it all works.

I'm looking forward to being able to upset all kinds of people and say it wasn't me!!

Yeh sunilp there was somebody impersonating you last night calling himself Sunlip!

However the whole thing is great, and we just have to bear in mind that all is not what it seems at present.
Greg
