Car reving at 7K RPM
My mates Subaru v4 is reving at 7K RPM.
He changed his inlet manifold for a red one of a car the exact same year as his. Since he out the new one on and started the car, the car shot straight up to 7K RPM on cold start and stays there! We had to switch of the car straight away. Since then it has not stopped. We changed the throttle body Incase it was faulty (with all plugs etc) and the problem still there. Checked for air leaks and there is non. Even If there was, would it cause the rev to go so high? Please help! Thanks a lot in advance people! |
Is the throttle cable snagged on anything?
|
Nope! Cable is good. We even tryed it without the cable being connected at all, and still same problem.
|
It must be sucking in air somewhere. Is it defo the right manifold? Do the sti ones not have the tumblers that wrxs dont?
|
May I also add, a larger air filter was also put in with a Samco silicon pipe to the turbo.
The car is Maf-less! |
So no one can help or advice me on this problem?
Anyone? |
If nothing has changed during the swap over, fit the old inlet manifold and see if it still does it ? hairline crack in the new manifold, old one not seated properly ?
failing that, Check the TPS maybe ? ??!"? |
When you blip the accelerator does it return to normal?
