I thought it was generally very well done, though the drive along the A20 could have been more interesting/exciting/whatever. It might have been OK for us old 'uns, but I can't believe they think that it shows off any of the cars' qualities. Then again.....

Could also have done with a few more laps - I was just beginning to enjoy myself when it was time to come in.

They completely messed up my booking, so didn't have any of my details when I turned up, so if any of you don't have an invitation and are prepared to blag it...... ;)

I'll be a Silverstone on the Friday.

I was a square (no.6), I guess that's just how it goes.

I did 32.65 on the precision. By that time I had lost my inhibitions about thrashing a new car with a few hundred miles on the clock. Clearly you youngsters have even fewer inhibitions. I heard that the fastest time so far was 27 sec.

It was well done. Very slick marketing. It would have been nice to have had a few more laps on track - I was quite impressed with the MR2.

Can't complain too much though, as it was a freebie :)

I was at Brands for the PM session on the 29th and I think the afternoon was excellent (especially considering the price!)

I asked one of the instructors what happens to all the cars afterwards and he told me they are going to be put through the dealer network.... So if you are in the market for an MR2, Celica and worst of all Corolla T sport then I would ask lots of questions first!!

The afternoon is split into 4 events and these are :

Track : Get taken out by the instructor in the Corolla T Sport (190 BHP) for a lap and then swap over so you can do 2 laps. Then get to choose either an MR2 or Celica 190 for 2 further laps and then another fast lap by the instructor

Road : Oh dear.... Split up into pairs and drive in a convoy on the roads around silverstone. First up was the Rav 4 Diesel which reminded me of a transit van. Next we were in a 1.6 Corolla which I obviously had to wheelspin and bounce off the rev limiter at every oportunity. Only 110 miles on the clock? Oh well not my car....

Driving Dynamics : For me the best part of the day with an instructor showing you all the driver aids on the Corolla T sport. This car has a buzzer which sounds when it thinks you are driving in a highly dangerous manner (i.e it is stopping you from crashing) and this buzzer was on pretty much constantly. Next it is your turn and you get to drive it like you stole it. By the end of my run the brakes were so hot the pedal went to the floor. As you get out of the car look at how bald the tyres are.....

Precision Driving : Driving a Yaris T sport around some cones etc. My time was 34 Seconds which he said was on the good side of average.

Bit of waiting around but the hospitality room has loads of stuff to occupy your time. I did notice one guy with bleach blonde hair going onto scoobynet though!!

Registration is between 1 and 2 but I would recommend getting there nearer 2 unless you want to wait around for ages!
