Cold air feed on classic

Have a few questions chaps.

1. I'm guessing people have done it?
2. What pipe work and where from?
3. Any improvement?
4. Any disadvantages? Let's assume I'm not going to drive the car through a lake, lol.

Think that's about it. Cheers for any input as allways.

Morrete headlights with the light missing for a Cold air feed pipe straight to the filter!! Always liked this set-up on a classic and at least high enough to stay away from big puddles!!!

imprezaworks 16 May 2014 07:57 PM

Yeah that's what I thought ref water. How likely is it though, to get water all the way up?

scoobyboy1 16 May 2014 08:00 PM

Like this, cant get much air as this as the filter sits pretty much behind it!!

That looks good. Tbh I'm just looking for something that I can have a mess with myself. I did a few bits to my car the other day which suprised me. I'm not what you would call technically gifted lol

Have you got STi covers??

If you have, cut/drill a big hole, then fit one of these trumpets to it(e-bay add attached), and attach a big feed pipe and direct it to your filter!!

Would probably paint it black too, or if you can find a black one as the alloy/shiney ones look a bit bling!!!

Pointless mod unless direct from headlight

mickywrx 16 May 2014 08:20 PM

Pre-facelift bumper you've got isn't it, Dan?

If you do that and want to be really posh, get a wingsert from Frayz.

imprezaworks 16 May 2014 08:21 PM

I have black plastic covers so I guess that could work.

Just ignore me, it's been one of those days lol

gc8-r 16 May 2014 08:53 PM

There was a set of morettes for sale cheap as he had cut them for caf's
Was 50 for the set mate ;)

bustaMOVEs 16 May 2014 08:55 PM

The morette looks better and easier to install but costs more, the fog light mod is a lot less cheaper but more faffing about chopping and cutting etc (don't feck it up lol)
But both very easy.

imprezaworks 16 May 2014 08:55 PM

Mmm will have a nose. Didn't really want morettes though mate

gc8-r 16 May 2014 08:59 PM

There in white.. ;)
They do make the classic look evil.. and your would look great with them mate

Too cheap for genuine Morettes, even modified ones.

They've been sold anyway, ending up near me.

imprezaworks 16 May 2014 09:23 PM

Which ever way is easier to be honest.

imprezaworks 16 May 2014 09:34 PM

Going up opt to cut a hole in my existing fog cover. Cheers for the help guys :)

white noise 17 May 2014 08:17 AM

I know mine is facelift , but I routed from fog cover , up thro inner wing and out just by induction kit
I made a small stainless mesh in induction trumpet , to stop birds, twigs and small people disappearing in the 4" pipe work !!
