Press "Up" and it takes about three seconds to change channel. I can't channel hop, cos it takes about 20 seconds to get from 1 to 5 , same for every other function. it's really slow since they changed the design of the display on the Tv and the channel numbers. is it just me?

It varies for me, but is never quite that slow...

The most irritating thing about the new channel guide is how it buffers keypresses so you inevitably end up skipping past the intended channel if you're impatient like me!.

The previous system is better in that it allowed you to skip channels as fast as you liked, and the channel info caught up later.

TELEWEST - FIX IT!!!!

Cheers,

Alex

Avi. You're not the only one. What exactly was wrong with the way it was?!?!?!?! O yeah and if you're recording off the Digital don't mute the TV from the (Dig) remote as it mutes your recording too!!!! FFS Telewest is soo stupid at times. Wish we'd gone with Sky now.

One top tip to speed things up.

There is a customisation setting for the Mini Guide for the number of seconds it stays visible when you change channel.

It may just be my perception, but it seemed to me when I changed that from 6 secs to 1, it speeded up channel changing.

I've now turned it to zero 'cos it messes up my Tivo otherwise, but that's another story.

I guess if you knew the channels you were aiming for and didn't need the mini guide, you too could set it to zero as you can always call up the TV guide by pressing 'TV Guide'!

HTH,

Alex

Edited 'cos I can't type...

how do i change it? :(

BigGT3Fan 30 May 2002 06:24 PM

Go into the TV guide,

Press the yellow customise button,

Choose Settings,

Change the setting from 6 to 1, or zero or whatever seconds you want?

Enjoy!
