Hi All,
Im about to fight an insurance company over a write off. What I need is proof of what my car was worth at the time. So, if anyone has any mags - Autocar is good from November/December 2001 - I need copies of the classifieds for Honda! so I can say "look, this is how much they were selling for (Integra Type R)" If anyone has any of these I would be most gratefull of photo copy of that page - will pay postal fees etc or a scan would be equally good. If by any chance anyone has glasses guide for NOv, a copy of that page would also be most usefull. Thanks Andy |
Playing devil's advocate here, but if I was the insurance company I'd say they only have to pay replacement value of the car so you can buy another one - if it costs a lot less to replace the car now than at the end of last year you have to put up with the depreciation just the same as if you owned the car. Probably need the full story though like how come you've left it until now to sort this out?

I'll check the study;)
But tend to agree with Boost, insurers will pay market value unless you have an agreed value policy. These are common for classic/specialist cars but not generally needed for normal vehicles. |

No, the case was in dispute from November till I won in May. I am told the value I will get is the amount it would have cost me to replace a like for like vehicle at the time it was trashed. Hence I am owed the value of a similar car bought in November. Long dispute caused time delay. Andy |
bttt if I may
