Modified Bugeye WRX - What's she worth?

I'm thinking of selling my 2001 bugeye WRX and just wondered if somebody could give me a rough indication of what I can expect for it. I've really got no clue and to be honest, if it ain't much I'll probably end up keeping it as it'll be worth more to me.

Anyway, it's a one owner car since new (Me) and was registered back in July 2001. It's on a Y plate and has wanted for nothing. Mileage is around 111k with full service history and EVERY MOT and receipt since new. Run with Shell V-Power and helix ultra oil. Properly warmed up and cooled down on every outing. It drives absolutely spot on too!!!!

Reason for sale - Put a deposit on an A45 for July delivery (But I could change my mind)

Very nice, I'd estimate between 4-5k

ditchmyster 25 April 2014 06:14 AM

About £3/3.5 with that milage as a whole car. Somewhere around £4/5k in parts but you'll be left with loads of bits and bobs as no one is going to want a 100k plus engine or gear box etc. so it's mostly your mods and maybe the odd panel plus the hassle.

To be honest if I were you because of the obvious amount of time and money you've put into it as well as the sentimental value, i'd keep it and have an engine built and stick a 6 speed in it and take it to 500bhp for the sake of another £6k and keep it for a weekend monster.:thumb:

It's a very nice looking car and i'm sure you'll cry yourself to sleep if you sell it after so long.:thumb:

lordharding 25 April 2014 06:41 AM

I would estimate at only £3k
Stunning car and one owner too so lots of sentimental value to you and if course Lots of money spent on it which we all know is worth nothing at selling time
Over the 100 k mark and 13 years old are the bare facts
Keep it and cherish it as weekend car and keep it next to the A45 ( nice car and I like these a lot especially the Amg with stripes and rear spolier but that's just me ) :D

yabbadoo4 25 April 2014 08:33 AM

id say more than 3k for sure. ok its not an sti but its a very nice example and well modified to sti power levels and looks well kept and looked after. i would be after 3.5 to 4k. if not keep it, she,s very nice.

Epic job there mate. Can I buy your gear knob? I spent ages finding one of them the lost out on an ebay auction

NickAdams 25 April 2014 10:58 AM

Thanks for the comments guys!!!

Yes, the massive issue I have is with the sentimental value of the car and the fact that people still look at it and admire it. I'd probably end up missing it if it goes but on the other hand if the A45 performs like it should...

I totally understand the comment by Lordharding that it's ultimately a 13 year old car with over 100k on the clock and that's one of the reasons that makes me think that I should keep it.

The trouble is, I can't really afford to keep this and get an A45 so it's gonna be a tough weekend deciding on what to do! :(

Oh and it has been looked after. I know that much! :D

Here's a pic I found on my phone after spending time doing a bit of detailing on it...

Nick, If I had a few £'s knocking about I would buy it. Sadly, unmolested, low mileage Classics are now going up in price and are overtaking Newage values.

Very nice bug, I would keep it if I were you , you will regret selling it after all the work and money you've put into it. I do like those A45's. What spec you ordered?

Cirrus white
Red calipers
Performance steering wheel
Performance exhaust
Rear armrest (Yes they charge you £170 for the privilege!)
Folding mirrors

Have paid a £500 deposit over the phone and have to go in on Monday to finalise the spec and place the order etc...

Still time to back out and keep the scoob though lol
