Alcon Prodrive Caliper Rebuild @ Scoobyworx
We have recently been asked to refurbish a set of Alcon Calipers for a Scottish Scoobies forum member and we are going to do a thread on them.
They are in a sorry state with heavy corrosion but they will be spot on when finished but plenty of work required to save them from the scrap pile if we are honest but once complete will be a great set of calipers. Here is a before picture, we had stripped one caliper down hence not quite been a before picture but i forgot to take one before we started. Il strip the other caliper today and add some more pictures showing the extent of the corrosion etc later. http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/y...Y/IMG_3088.jpg |
Here is a before and after of what type of repairs we have had to do on these, ive just finished one front for now to see how the whole process went, all of them have corrosion al the way through to the threads on the bit where the pad guides sit and we have had to rebuild them with special metal filler we use for powder coating.

Here is one front finished,
The logo has been painted back in also and im about 99% happy with it but me been a perfectionist would prefer it to be a little better, http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/y...Y/IMG_3120.jpg |
That looks great in white, wouldn't fancy being the one to keep them clean though haha

Looks spot on although white wouldn't be my choice of colour. Be interested in a quote to do mine although mine are in good working order. Silver paint.

Parts for the Alcons are £215 including the bridge pipes, seal kit etc, labour would be dependant upon condition after blasting. Also on any re threads required also. |
