Rarest Impreza's in order please...

Hello does anyone have a list of Impreza's in order of amount produced? I was just reading about the series McRae being a limited run of 200, and wondered what the numbers were like on the other limited edition cars?

Willowsdad 16 April 2014 12:33 PM

A quick google gives you a list of all the uk special editions.

S201, S202, s203, s204 are the rarest i believe? then the series mcrea, etc etc

Spec D not included and, at 300, must be one of the rarest according to that list :luxhello:

Tidgy 16 April 2014 01:11 PM

hmm, not as rare as i thought,

S201 = 300
S202 = 400
S203 = 555
S204 = 600

So at 200 series mcrae seems to be rarest of all?

53 16 April 2014 01:14 PM

^ Certainly the rustiest :D

The only rarity about a spec D is it being on the road and not having it's chocolate engine rebuilt :D

MY11 STI WRX Type UK - 204
So the McRae probably has it

ronjeramy 16 April 2014 01:20 PM

hmmm, technicly yes it prob is, but other than badges its a standard 22b in my eyes.

Are we talking about 'proper' factory limited editions like the 'S' series amongst others, or just local market models ie the UK which had some accessories thrown onto them along with in some cases gaudy looking interiors?

There is a big difference between the two classes and I know which type I would rather own. ;)

Not really, it's just that one type has been modified to make it better, whereas the other has some different trim to how it left the factory.

The only local limited edition that I would like is the RB320, now they are a great looking car it's only a pity that the engine could potentially let down the car. :)

Been there, done that!! Although, in reality, it was only the head gaskets which were causing problems. The pistons were practically perfect when checked. Anyway, I don't believe the Spec D's engine was any different to a standard STI.

Can't help feeling the head gasket problems are better than the big end/oil problems in the 2 litre engines. :D

Osimabu 16 April 2014 04:43 PM

Subaru didn't make/build them so hardly qualifies as a rare Impreza..ugly yes, rare no!

Oranges 16 April 2014 07:16 PM

The clue is in the name bud, Tommy Kaira!
It was never sold as a Subaru, they ****ed about with it so much it was Sold as a Tommy Kaira.

TonyBurns 16 April 2014 08:31 PM

You can only really have factory cars as rare limited editions because these will be "official" rather than regional vehicles.

22B UK doesn't count as they were still part of the batch manufactured at the factory so come under factory limited edition.

If you have 2 categories, one for factory and 1 for regional, then for the UK the ones that would win hands down are the 6 RA's brought into the country in 1993 and registered, 3 were converted for rallying and 3 were sold to customers.

Tony:)
