brake problems !!!!
 

Hi ppl ive replaced all my pads ans discs and cleaned my calipers up now ive rebled them but im getting no brake pressure , if i pump the brake fast its pressurises but soon as i let it go it will push to the floor again , seems tho the brake fluid returns to the resovoir , help needed asap its in for mot on friday , thanks , dan

Did you loosen the brake nipples when you pushed the pistons back.

If u mean the bleed nipples no i didnt but there wer no hose or bold on the calipers as i changed the flexis to goodridge ones if this helps ??

Sounds like you need to bleed the brakes right through.

Are the calipers on the correct side? Bleed nipple at top of caliper? If the nipples are at the bottom it wont bleed properly. Swap calipers over

Will the calipers fit any side ??? Also tbr rears the bleed nipples are at the bottom and so are fronts is this my problem fronts r four pots rears are the one pot kind :/ , thanks , dan

Swap them left to right and vic versa and the nipple will then be at the top - you'll then be able to bleed them properly:thumb:

They will fit either side no problems.

Ok will do tmo now been confusing me for a few hes now after constant bleeding , hopefully this will fux it n stop the fluids returning to the resivour ,thanks dan .

Yes can be fitted on wrong side. As above nipples should be at the top. Swap them over and bleed again. School boy error. Lol. Many have done it

It should be almost impossible to fit on the wrong side as the brake line will not reach.

But it does sound like you need to bleed them properly. Have you bled all 4 calipers, starting at the nearside rear?

I always have to laugh when I read threads like this.
Why do people attempt jobs such as brakes, especially given the importance of such items, when they possibly don't have enough talent to carry out the task successfully.

To be fair, brakes are very simple and you only learn if you try it yourself.
You just have to read as much as possible and make sure you are methodical in your approach.

True, but you need to do your research beforehand and not afterwards when the job has gone all wrong:wonder:

In honesty i been a garage mechanic for 8 yrs ive done brakes on cars more times than i can count and never encountered such a probem thats y i wer so confused lol didnt help i rushed it intime for mot that went out the window as u can imagine , but guess you learn sumthin new everyday and ya dont no if you dont ask , as for talent to carry out the task i wer rushing and it wer pissing it down and cold and by ur comment im sure u know everything about everything , i asked for help that i got not critisism from a know all

Just a thought did you bleed the brakes pushing pedal all way to the floor??if so you may ruptured
The master cylinder seals.if so new master cylinder time.I have done this on a corsa before.

You are a qualified mechanic and you didn't know that to enable bleeding the bleed valve on any system needs to be as high as possible to let air rise out of it? That is scary. Please don't take offence at that. But I would hope that anybody working on brakes would know how the system works before taking it apart.... Another reason I don't trust anybody to work on my car but me.
