My 2003 PPP Wagon, as it stands now!

I thought it was about time I put some pics up of my 2003 blobeye wagon. It started out completely standard, but now after some color coding, some painting, a different set of wheels etc this is its progression:

And how it sits now, splitter added and pff7s painted today:

I haven't updated this thread for a long while! i went through a phase of thinking about selling up and going back to the Nissan fold... but then changed my mind several times and eventually ended up buying some nice bits and pieces for the wagon :)

such as:

Godspeed discs, kevlar pads, and braided lines with AP fluid.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...pss39nzg9m.jpg

Carbon wrapped centre dash trims

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...psilq1rlos.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...pseqi2hdz1.jpg

An afterburner vortex exhaust which needed a damn good polish!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...psnbwbcewp.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...pswlldeaqq.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...psgjlaf2w3.jpg

then it was about time to get the cambelt changed, so did that with genuine parts and strengthened rollers

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...psxnucnhrc.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...psy0eg5qdr.jpg

a good friend of mine then mentioned that my lights had gone a bit yellowy and tired..and he was right so he gave them a polish for me and I removed the silly carbon eyelids, they look soooo much better!

before:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...ps0ihibyt0.jpg

after:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...psbircbcup.jpg

at this stage I was pretty happy with the car... but then after leaving it for a bit and realizing that it was seriously lacking in the power department (I mean not slow... but only approx 250bhp) I contemplating selling up again.... so in order to stop myself doing that I bought some more parts......

STI decat up pipe

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...psz1sdl9id.jpg

A pillar pod and swoosh boost gauge

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...ps95qfuxlq.jpg

STI pink 550cc injectors

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...psahv0szru.jpg

A new walbro 255 pump, some NGK grade 7 plugs, and a pipercross panel filter.... and a 3 port boost solenoid....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...psudqidrzf.jpg

and lastly...a VF35 turbo :)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...ps4zkrnbzx.jpg

That's where I'm at now really. Im waiting to get winter/Christmas etc out of the way before getting it all fitted and mapped up. I'd hope for a nice solid 310-320 bhp which in my mind is just good usable daily power without taking the mick and stressing the 5 speed box out too much. I've already got my pink box Exedy clutch in and lightened flywheel so there shouldn't be any problems in that department.

And then very lastly I jumped on the group buy for a set of the PCA Dynamics "Prodrive spec" springs. I'd love to go down the coilover route..but where I park at work and where I live I'm surrounded by harsh speed bumps so it would be a pointless exercise as I couldn't run low.

Once everythings fitted and the car mapped, or when I give it a good clean and get some fresh pics. I'll update this thread again :) Cheers

About time I updated this...after some colour coding of the side skirts and front splitter, as well as the interior trims. And fitted a set of HSD coilovers and gave it a good clean, it scrubs up pretty well:

Nice! My wagon (also a blob WRX PPP) could do with some attention, and apart from the cosmetic stuff I am looking at coilovers - do you have the part number of the HSDs that will fit? I had a look on their site but it didn't mention anything for the right model code on my VIN (GGA).

Plus, at the end of your walkaround video it looks like it is made of jelly!

Ste333 07 September 2015 02:41 PM

I've fitted GDB ones bud and they're great. I'd recommend rear camber bolts though so you have a bit more adjustability for the back. Fitment wise though, the saloon ones fit fine and it's aligned to where it should be.

And yeah I noticed that in the video, it went a bit odd at the end lol

boggissimo 07 September 2015 02:47 PM

Awesome, thanks fella. Was it the 5x100 or 5x114?

Mine is an 05 plate, 2 litre UK car.

Of course the 5x100 is out of stock - but gives me a chance to think a bit more about it (and save up the pennies)...

McGoo 07 September 2015 04:33 PM

loving this wagon

Ste333 07 September 2015 06:36 PM

Yep have a ponder bud. Will definitely be 5x100 then. Thanks mate

So I got hold of some Brembo front brakes with pads/discs. After an initial problem with the thread on 1 of them - which is quite common, (the steel bolts can damage the aluminium threads) I managed to get it retapped and they're now on the car :)
They feel so much better than the 4 pots when pushing harder and really give you more confidence. At the rear I still have the standard 2 pots at the moment, but I might address that in the near future. A friend of mine is also going to paint my calipers soon in a very interesting colour....so I'll update when that happens. It's also occured to me now that I'll need to get a brembo clearing space saver wheel too....

Looking good mate! Brembos Definatly make all the difference!

I think i saw these on ebay with the damage thread as im keeping my eye out for some!

Keep it up!

Ste333 17 September 2015 02:57 PM

In fairness, they weren't supposed to have damaged thread, me and the seller suspect they were damaged in transit. But we sorted it thankfully :)
I definitely recommend them bud, feel loads better and as a bonus, look very nice too :)

McGoo 17 September 2015 03:09 PM

i find it strange how they were damaged in transit? thats rather strange

but atleast you have got it sorted :luxhello:

Ste333 18 September 2015 07:34 AM

Well the mounting bolts were screwed a few threads into the caliper holes to keep them from getting lost in the packaging. But when I unwrapped the package the one bolt was on the piss in the mounting and had picked up a couple of threads so no bolt would go into it straight and true. So we suspect the parcel may have taken a bit of a bang on the 1 corner which moved the bolt and damaged the thread.

Either way, yeah all sorted now
