235-45-17 tyres
 

I had bug sti wheels on my wrx bug not to long ago with 235-45-17 tyres on it improved the look of the car as closed the arch gap! I'm thinking of buying another set is it sensible to run with these tyres on as I think standard sti wheels are 225-45-17

Just it looked so much better with that gap closed up a bit .

Me personally 225 are the widest I would go with a 17x7 inch rim.SJ.

Ok mate cool in your opinion don't you think the new age looks to high the gap between tyre and arch? Looks like my money will be better spent on lowering springs. Last owner sold me car with 235s on maybe that was the garages fault and not his

They do but a nice subtle spring job should improve the look,remember not too low as you want the suspension to function the way it was intended to.SJ.

The 235 is recommended for an 8" rim, but as with all tyres they state a range from 7.5 to 9 rims for this tyre.

I know your car is a bug WRX but the widetrack blob/hawk JDM STi come with 235/45/17 as standard. and when you compare a UK STi with the 225/45/17 next to the JDM you notice the difference in looks/wheel arch gap, Think the 235/45 fill the arches so much better!!! Personally I would go 235/45/17!!

I run this size on my hawkeye now as brought it with 225,s fitted ! As the op has said and I believe it does improve the stand :thumb:
