do I lose my ncb?

Hi.

I built up around 4 yrs ncb and had my licence for about 10 yrs with no claims or accidents my last car was an 02 wrx. The only thing is iv not had a car for a couple of years, so do I lose my ncb?

Im looking for an 03 wrx but without my ncb the insurance is silly even though im 30

If I could get cover for around a grand id jump at it

Sorry for the quality of my msg but im using my phone, thanks for any help

I think you have 2 years before you lose it

Ok cool, thanks.

Is there a way to find out exactly when my cover finished if I can provide my details because iv moved house and lost all my paperwork.

I've found a pdf of a certificate of insurance for my wrx which ended around the 20th jan 2013 so maybe im in luck. Would a print out of this be enough proof?

Plus it dosnt mention how many yrs ncb I had. Would an Insurance company be able to find out for me?

Contacting your previous insurer should be your first port of call.

Hi,
Just to let you know that we have some schemes that will accept NCB for up to 3 years.
Regards,
Dan.

If your schemes except 3 years and you then switch after that year do you then go back to 1 NCB if the following company doesnt except a gap of more than 2 years?

Ah thats great news. My old policy was with admiral and started on 08/01/11 so it ended less than 3 years ago. I need to know if my no claims would count before I buy the car because without them I cant afford to insure one

Thanks

Hi,
To be honest once we have accepted the NCB it is then updated to current NCB so you shouldn't have any issues transferring it to other insurers.

Dan.
