Coil overs?

I need to upgrade my suspension, and pennies are hard to come by, any suggestions?

Whats your budget, car etc...

99 classic. £300ish

Probably best to buy some good quality springs for that price, you get to keep some road comfort as well. Or if you can manage to find a good second hand pair of coilovers in the for sale section.

Hi Andy,

I have some really nice Tein Superstreet coilovers available this weekend as I'm having them removed from my version 6 Type R on Friday. 15k on them, mostly dry miles, and complete with pillowball top mounts and all the associated mounting hardware, nuts, bolts and whatnot. Looking for offers around £350.

Paul.

To be honest a classic on Eibach springs, anti lift kit, upgrade ANti roll bars and 4W alignment etc is great for road. I'd personal avoid coilovers if just for road use. IMHO Expect to pay dentist for replacing your teeth filling that fall out every time you run over a match stick. LOL

The heavier newage cars wears coilovers much better

Although £350 cheap.

To be honest the ride isn't too bad but I have them set pretty soft at the moment. I think it's the 18's that kill it to be fair. I'm going to try a P1 set up to see what that's like before I think about replacing the wheels.

I'll pay my subscription and advertise them properly in the for sale section at the weekend with pics. Don't want to break any rules ;)

Paul.

Do plenty of research first but to be honest I'd stick with shocks and upgrade the springs and like mentioned above ALK & ARB's. Also check the spring rates so you get a good balance of handling and ride comfort

I got coilovers on my Hawk and in hindsight I wish I hadn't they a bit to hard and the hard/soft adjuster either makes it to hard or to soft. If I had the money I'd rip them off

I'm on eibach springs at the moment but with out the anti lift kit or poly bushes, but it is stil very soft, so I thought I'd give coil overs a go?

Gotta be worth a try if you're curious Andy. You won't lose out either if you don't get on with them because I'm sure you could quite easily sell them and make your money back :)

Paul.
