What clutch upgrade for standard 2005 Sti?

Basically, I think my clutch is on its way out and when I replace it I want to be able to go on the track... But it is also my daily driver.

I was thinking about the stage 1 organic Exedy clutch as its a bit more durable when 'racing' but not that extreme...

Any opinions of this clutch or other ones suitable to my situation?

Also, do you have to change your driving style to suite the clutch as it is no longer standard? Like you can't ride it if your in traffic etc...

Thanks :D

I've got the excedy pink box for sti uk2003, it's similar to a standard clutch. Abit harder but it wouldn't take long to get used to. I suppose it all depends on what power level ur running. I don't no how durable it would be for track use. One other thing is to look at ur flywheel, it might need skimming or replaced for a light weight version.

Ive got the Excedy pink box @ about 390bhp & its not too heavy when in traffic,to be honest its just like the standard clutch.
I got mine from Aztec & also fitted the lightweight flywheel at the same time.

Andy.

Thanks :) Yeah my car is standard (300bhp PPP), I just wanted something that will have some track capabilities. This seems the best option so far.

How many miles have you done on these clutches so far?

Had mine done about 1 year ago, it's not a daily drive though, doesn't do much mileage probably about 4k or so. The old clutch was ****ed so I fancied something that could do abit more than standard, aiming for about 400bhp, but I tend to spend money on other things

We've been using CC clutches for some time now, amongst others as appropriate. They do an organic one for the six speed box that is nicely uprated without overdoing it. It's very smooth in operation and we've had several of our customers use it on road and track with no bother, one of them using one of our 500 bhp builds at the Nurburgring.
All clutches are a compromise, but this is a particularly good one at £360 plus vat (£432 inc).

Isn't Shaun on here running a standard 6 speed clutch and flywheel in his JDM hawk STi at 490bhp/475ftlb?? Who needs fancy twin plate uprated clutch when the standard one is good enough!!!

I ran the standered clutch in my first blob sti for ages at just under 400 bhp.did loads of drag runs and got tons of abuse on the road.i only upgraded when i went for the next step nearer to 500 bhp.
