scam or not ?

ok the guy thats bourght my scoob is in germany ,says he buys cars all over the uk ,but when i look at his ebay feedback its private . but 240 positive feedback rating
also he wants a copy of logbook and mot so he can get temp insurance to drive the car
prepared to pay £450 dep into paypal and pick car up wed and settle in cash .

or pick up car on friday with a trailer paying full amount in cash .

now im a bit cautious when it comes to overseas buyers , esp when they have a bulgarian sounding name

can anyone spot a scam

Don't think he can do any harm with a copy of the docs. I think if it was a scam he would want to pay the full amount by fake PayPal! I would just have some sort of ultra violet light or something to make sure the notes are real, or even better, take him to your bank and pay the cash in! ( I would do this with anyone!)

I have sold a scoob to someone in Germany before and they do need info from logbook. What is the guys name as it sounds like the bloke I sold mine to!

Why do you need the logbook to insure it?

Is it a German thing?

I stuck the name into google and there's a few links to a German based chap related to car stuff, there's also a photo - guess you could check if this is the same chap?

Yes it is the same guy, he is a dealer and does buy a lot of cars from the uk. When he bought my old bug sti he came alone with a pickup truck and trailer, haggled the price down £500 and loaded it straight up and left without even bothering to take the car for a test drive. He paid in cash, all £50 notes brand new and fresh so I was suspect but I used a magic note pen and they were all kosher.

I will find the website to his company.

I sold a decal kit to a lad from Germany, he contacted me saying he will pick it up which I thought was strange! but he turned up on his way up to Manchester to pick up a car, said he comes over maybe 2/3 times a month to pick up motors, must be a good market over there to run over here to pick up motors :)

Yeah he is a decent enough chap but make sure you stick to your price and don't let him haggle you down, I was impatient as I wanted to buy a P1 so just accepted it for a quick sale. He won't travel all this way for nothing what with all the costs etc so don't budge on the price ;)
