Roughly how often do you need to empty oil catch cans?
Hi just purchased a 480/480 fully forged hawk, the oil catch can requires emptying as its not a return to sump one, any ideas on how often I should be getting it emptied?
Thanks in advance Matt |
That will depend on things like engine health, severity of use, catch can capacity, and so on.
If it's half full then empty it I would say. |

Hello m8
Congrats on your purchase , always nice to see a strong Hawk on the forum :) Is your can 2 port or. 3 Are you running PCV or direct ? All will make diff answers Will always need empty more in colder months ESP if crankcase direct to can , as moisture sets in As a rule I empty & clean mine once a month ( but that's me ) :) |
ive emptied mines once since last year had hardly anything in it just a little moisture/the gunk from sump
