Ebaying cars
Is there a legitimate reason for flogging a car this way, other than hoping for a bidding war
|
Ebay has possibly one of the biggest customer market for advertising things on, Your advert is countrywide & like you said may start a bidding war.
Bot on the other side there are lots of idiots on Ebay who just bid for the sake of it & never intend to buy the item. I always advertise a vehicle on a "Buy it now" listing with the "Best offer" option. |
But you'd get nationwide with autotrader etc
Or does it cost too much |

Autotrader was 40 quid last time i checked - FAR too expensive for what is in effect a little bit of database space on a website.
I personally think Ebay and Pistonheads have overtaken Autotrader now. Autotrader is behind the times. Pricing is way too high. Ebay is £14 for 28 days on a Classified vehicle add. Obviously you open yourself up the circus of clowns who will probably contact you but you get so many views in such a short space of time it's worth it in the long run purely for visibility. |
But 14 quids nothing

I always search auto trader, ph, eBay and google search for the hidden gems.
Tbh eBay is more used as its better priced and the audience is just as much to me. |
