Hi,

Im thinking about getting the wheels re-painted.... ! Painted ! not powder coated.

Is this really a good idea??
Iv seen a couple threads about failures of these wheels on here.. but the common point appears to have been getting the rims powder coated which means they were shoved in a hot oven for a few hours. The theory being this weakened them..

Now I like the OEM 17" wheels and I think they would look good in high gloss black.
But do alloys get weaker with age?? or is it mainly the heat treatment that causes the failure?

your thoughts please.
