Shaving - wet or dry?
So what do you do?
I have been using an electric razor (Braun one that comes with it's own washing machine!) for years. I left it in a hotel in the US last month and will not get it back until this week. In the interim I tried on of those battery powered vibrating wet razors. It is really excellent - so what do you guys do? If you wet shave what do you use - I have been using King of Shaves gel? |
Cheapest gilette blue II and the soap that I use in the shower :D

I have a medium strength beard. I now use a £25 Remington rechargeable battery job which is just as good or better than my old expensive Braun. If I then have a shower I finish off using a cheap throwaway BIC razor. Does the job every time and doesn't cost. Can't stand those heavyweight 8 blade Gillette things. dl

electric beard razor without the depth adjustment once a week :thumb:
|
Gillett mach 5 for me, also have a istubble but prefer a wetshave although hate the prices of the blades
|
Always wet here, using a Merker andd badger brush. Yes old school but soooo much better results than the Gillette I was using.
Oh and blades are pence too :D |
Always wet shave , gillete 5 blade thingy ma jig and that mint fresh shaving foam things .
Make my face feel so fresh after |
Number one on the beard trimmer. Never take it all off.
|
Gillette Fusion and Gillette Gel does it for me. If I use a cheap BIC type I look like I've been attacked with a machete.

When I have to shave (for work), Gillette Pro Fusion razor with Boots soap bowl and a brush. Inbetween I just keep it down with my I stubble.
|
Wet here, Gillette Pro Fusion and Clinique Face scrub, Aloe gel then post shave healer :thumb:
|
I used to wet shave with a Wilkinson and Sword Quattro, now I use a Phillishave electric job once or twice a week while i'm watching tv usually
|
Wet shave with a cheap Bic, changing it once a week - only about 10p each anyway. Gillette soap with a brush, leave for a couple of mins to get the beard nice and soft. I always shave against the grain and it's really smooth - for a couple of hours anyway.
|
Atm with a gillette bostonian, a shark super chrome blade. Some mitchells wool fat, arko or provence sante soap, and a new forest tubby 2 brush.
Also a splash of pinaud clubman or aqua velva musk goes down a treat. Yes i milk the whole event. ;) Oh and a merkur 37g slant at times. http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/590...0527204014.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...505_193257.jpg |

Crocodile Dundee stylee anybody LOL

I try both but I always think an electric shaver is hopeless, buy the best gilette razors and they always give a quality shave.
|
Aww it is worth it, and easy to get into.
Bear in mind i've been doing it a while, or so i've been told :Suspiciou

Been using a Philishave rechargeable for many years, does the job for me.
Tried wet shaving a few times and I always seems to end up with bits of bog roll strategically stuck to my face. Not got the smoothest of skin mind. None of the hassle with the electric. |
I use my braun mostly but at times i have to swap to a blue tesco own throw away. anyone else stuggle with an electric to get the hairs on your neck ? I don't have a large adams apple but the only way I can get the hairs is with a blade..
I pluck some of my stubble as they are over 1mm thick ! |
I have always used a razor for a wet shave. Could never get a decent shave with an electric one.
Th vibrating ones with multiple blades are very good as you say, and the blade lasts for a long time too. Les |
Always wet shave. Tried electric, but my whole neck turned into a bright red blotch. Gillette Mach3 and Gillette Gel. Thinking about trying the new 5 blade one a mate got one last week and reckons it is actually better. I thought it was all marketing BS !
