Papa's got a brand new bag - Litchfield Type20
Finally ... it's here
Picked it up from Litchfield's on Friday and cruised home with it goading me to go faster. Thank god for the rev beeper thingy (had to turn it down to 3,800 to give me advanced warning) Doesn't seem as twitchy as the demo car I drove with the same suspension, but it's definately a bit lively in the corners when coming strong on power. But - the moment when I was coming from 1 motorway to the next, round a 40mph bend I held it at 80, pointed it at the corner and it swept round as if nothing had happed. That's when this happened..... :luvlove: Truly truly awsome car and many thanks to Ian for supplying it Looking forward to completing the Type20 conversion to dial out the twitch and give it more power (pron. pooooowaaaaa) :notworthy Have to say it's pretty quiet (bar tyre roar) even without the sound deadening. Hope the Miltek doesn't make it too noisy - I'm liking the 'stealth mode' at the moment :norty: Because it's black and quiet it slips by without people noticing, but when they do they can't keep their eyes off it I've had nothing but compliments so far and everyone that's been in it has fallen in love with it :thumb: It's running in well and only now it's at 500 miles can I tell how tight the engine was at 14. Much much smoother delivery now and the gearbox is bedding in nicely too 14 miles old: http://type20.co.uk/images/Image035.jpg Lemmy having a rest: http://type20.co.uk/images/Image034.jpg |
sweeeeet!

2) Is that a BP garage??? :nono: 3) Lemmy? ;) :D Ns04 |
Black is definitely the best colour. :thumb:
Glad you are having fun with the new toy. Proper rocket ship once it's run in. ;) It's the BP just outside before the motorway by the looks of it :D It'll do whilst running in. :D Andy |
Looks the business. When I got my bugeye STi I could not wait to get it run in. Managed to do it within a week even though I was on call for work and had to be 20 minutes maximum away if needed.

I'm running it in so I don't think 97 RON will kill it at 3K rpm on the way home with it's overfueling base map. Got home and it's been on V fuel since :thumb: 3) The car's called Lemmy - after the singer of Motorhead ... dressed in black and usually found speeding his nuts off :p |
Yo mate.. where can i get one of these from ??? address or website ?
by the way... it looks the DOGS F*KIN B*LLOUX ! :thumb: |
Litchfield Imports
The're alsoa an official Scoobynet advertiser (should see a banner pop up now and again) |

Very nice there mate, very nice. Was never a fan of black cars as they are a @#!%$ to clean and NOT scratch, plus I never really saw the point of a black car, but now I can and I am starting to like black cars especially Impreza's :)

Cheers Callum !

Great car matey.
What power and torque will it put out once mapped? |
Awesome looking ... is it a Spec C?
TX. |
Hi Martin - should be about 350, but I have the optional Cold Air intake kit going on as well as Turbo and exhaust wrap which should hopefully see it push out a little more as well as keeping under bonnet temps down and improve Turbo spool speeds
Hi TerminatorX Yea dude - it's a Spec-C (you can tell by the roof vent) although it doesn't have the little Spec-C sticker on the back. Perhaps because it's a black 'un and the sticker's got black writing which makes it invisible? |

12 point AST suspention Handling pack (adjustable rollbars and Whitline antidive) Miltek Exhaust Uprated Boost control solenoid Performance Air Filter Braided brakelines It's called a Type20 as the JDM Scoobies are based on the 2.0l Jap engine The Type25 is exactly the same as above, but the engine is removed and replaced with a completely new 2.5l engine made from Cosworth and includes higher spec turbo, ceramic coated exhaust, uprated fuel pump and so-on. The engine spec is huuuuuge and I can't remember 1/5 of it. Best to call Ian and he'll tell you exactly what goes into making the Type25 engine Type 20 will see about 350/350 bhp/lbft Type 25 will see 415/425 bhp/lbft (someone correct me if I'm wrong) Ian will sell you the Type20 and if you get tired of it (as if) then you can upgrade to make it a Type25 at a later date :thumb: |
Callum. No mate... But I'm sure someone else will have my good taste :thumb:
Make sure you get the Stickers from Iain or Tim to replace the STI on the fog covers .. makes the car stand out from the crowd ..:D Andy - The original Blobeye shape body's are the same. Same geo & suspension, AST's, Miltek, braided hoses etc etc.. The difference came with using the US based 2.5 Ltr engine compared to the 2.0 Ltr JDM twinscroll unit in the 20.. Book power figures went from approx 335 BHP / Ft lbs to 380 ish forthe 25. The New 25 raises the game with the brakes & Cosworth internals to name but two differences..and both new 06 models raise the power to.. Though like the old 20/25, I'm sure you can take a stock 06 and Iain / Powerstation will add bits to effectively get you a 20/25 conversion.. depending on your budget.. |
Beat me by 1 minute.. damn your fast fingers! :D
Callum's got the 06 covered.. I did the 04/05 :thumb: |
someones been doing thier homework. :thumb:
Andy |
350 bhp sounds fab, assuming there's not much lag ?
|
I thinks theres quite a lot of lag.
My mate has an mr340 and we was having a play the other day and his turbo kicks in quicker then mine and was shocked to see him half a cars length infront of me untill we hit the twisties where my car out performed his with ease. The sti upgrade on my type ra is one hell of a suspension setup. |
The Twinscroll eliminates a lot of the lag.. Not entirely, but it's a damn fine curve from low down..
Plato's chat tonight said there was some lag.. but it was 'pretty good'. I'd have knocked it down a cog at 3k RPM mind.. It was a bit like Clarksons attempt at showing the lag on a FQ400. Planting his foot in sixth at 1500 revs (ish) only to get beaten by some family saloon.. Who does that??? 3 cogs down and Bang! You're gone. Trust me, there's enough grunt and lack of lag to get you moving quickly :thumb: |

Andy Spec-C comes on turbo at about 2.25-2.5K and if full boost by 3k compared to the UK model which begins about 3-3.25 and comes on full by about 3.75K Evo comes on at about 2-2.25 and has slightly shorter gearing I think. I find the Scoob more tractable and less shuffling of the box to keep it at speed in the corners. Much easier to drive. Not as hard work as the Evo |
