Well pslewis came back two days early. Maybe he is feeling guilty?

If we are lucky, he will eventually admit that he is a liar!!!

If he doesn't - he will continue to be haunted ;)

......I reckon I have - I think its about 10 years old, a Motorola MR30!!

It's on Conract to Orange and I get a monthly bill .... which averages 35p!! :thumb:

I keep getting companies ringing me and telling me I can upgrade - FANTASTIC I say!!

They get all excited and start telling me about their £19:99 a month packages .... I interupt and say that I only pay about 35p a month now .... do they hear what I've said??

NO!! They just continue on - and on - and on ..... they actually fail to see that I would be worse off with them!!!

Even with such overwhelming odds they continue to try and get me to upgrade!! Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!

Braindead ............. ;)

So, anyone any older phone in regular use - I bet there isn't, you lot are gadget freaks!! ;)

Pete

Pete, do they tend to go anything like this?

boomer 20 August 2007 10:06 PM

Sadly it looks like pslewis still won't admit that he is a liar :(

Selective amnesia can be a terrible thing ;)

pslewis 20 August 2007 10:15 PM

I will repeat:-

1. I have an old Motorola 'brick' phone which still works off its own batteries.

2. It is on Contract, on the Orange match of the Virgin Tariff.

3. Average monthly bill is 35p and I receive a bill each and every month.

4. I only pay the bill when it reaches £1+ (about 3 months)

Thats about all there is to it - believe it or not, I ain't worried :D

Dracoro 20 August 2007 11:06 PM

When did you get this phone & tariff pete?

pslewis 20 August 2007 11:17 PM

Phone approx. 1996 ....... Virgin match tariff? when the Orange contract expired and I threatened to leave :D

Dracoro 20 August 2007 11:24 PM

Which was when?

Matteeboy 21 August 2007 10:05 AM

My 6280 has just died so I'm back to a 5 year old 6130 (I think) for at least six months!!

...notice the subtle way that pslewis is trying to change his story, and will soon be suggesting that he bought the phone in 1996, kept it for three or more years, threatened to cancel his contract, and then miraculously decided to take up the "Virgin match tariff" sometime after November 1999, when Virgin Mobile first started!!!

However...

i think this thread should be made sticky so to stay up top till proof is shown:rolleyes:

B-B 21 August 2007 11:01 PM

What proof is it that you are after again? I have seen the phone and seen it working in his car. I have even received texts from it. I do not know what contract he is on but the phone DOES exist and DOES work and IS in his car.

if only lewis himself had as fewer posts as you.

ah, wishful thinking:Whatever_

Clarebabes 22 August 2007 09:20 AM

I've got a 6280 for sale if anyone wants it. £50 delivered.

Matteeboy 22 August 2007 09:20 AM

Hmmm - I'm now using a four year old phone and for 95% of the time, it actually works BETTER than my much newer mobile.

Battery life much longer.
Easier to make calls/text
Seems to get much better reception
Smaller

Yes it only has a poor camera and GPRS not 3G but overall, it's actually better!

SunnySideUp 20 January 2010 11:18 PM

This phone is still in use in my car :thumb:

Wagon Gaz 20 January 2010 11:27 PM

My Missus still refuses to part with her battered Nokia 3510 just wont use a newer phone:brickwall

SunnySideUp 20 January 2010 11:33 PM

"Small, neat, lightweight phone for the Orange Network!" seems laughable today

Google Image Result for http://www.mobiles.co.uk/images/mr30.gif

What's it worth to retro collectors - any idea?

I actually have two - but one is not connected.

tkws5606 21 January 2010 12:03 AM

I must be too young to remember but could phones made in 1996 send text messages and if they do does the text come out as copperplate handwriting:lol:
