adair69 - I guess you've read this thread?

Wading through this I could imply that the problems with STi7s going bang is not confined to the UK and to mods, there's could be a bigger problem out there - hence reticence in paying up.

Sure there are lots of reasons why it may not be the same thing, but I though this could help your argument

Thanks for everyone out there giving me some very good advice.
A number of people have said that it would be a good idea not to lie down and that the proving that the exhaust caused the problem is Subaru's problem. The truth is that aftermarket parts whether they cause this problem or not will always put you in a position where your have to convince someone i.e. Subaru to spend money on reparing your vehicle- Hence its MY problem. lets be honest, the car could be sitting there depreciating nicely for 12 mths and god knows how much money you've had to pour after it in legals. As a business man I write off debts occasionally as the pursuit would be just not viable and cost-effective. I do not mean that I won't kick up a fuss regards the situation, but lets face it I want it on the road to have some fun and if Subaru don't wish to have people like myself who would spend probably c30K-120k a year with them well its their luck out.
The sad fact is that prevention is going to be better than cure. If your engine blows and you have a non approved part on it, Have you got the money to fix it? Time to wait while you argue? Do you need the car, got finance on it? I'm probably in a better situation than most, but that doesn't mean I'm stupid enough to spend money when there is no guarantee at the end of it.
Don't buy anything which isn't approved, its probably as simple as that, i know having talked extensively to Beechdale if you require something different to spec then ask, as there are numbers of alternatives to aftermarket. I know that this is a costly lesson, but one which everyone out there should be made aware.

STi7PPP

Thank you very much don't really get on here much these days. There were some issues I believe on the continent, and this seems to support to a certain extent that there could be an issue.
Yes I have paid up the money, grudgingly but well, Subaru lost the good will and custom of myself and my business for good!
