At present, F1 on the BBC is run by F1 geeks for F1 geeks.
I can see Sky taking a very different approach.

Hard to say really. I would hope that they kept the present commentary team which i think does the job very well all round.

Sky do employ top commentators, the cricket ones are very experienced at the game and also do well. The 'bike racing commentators are also very capable so I would expect it to be the same for F1.

I suppose we shall just have to wait and see.

The have to admit the Football is far superior on Sky compared to BBC.

Maybe we can just do what the pub landlady did to show live football in her pub - get the live feed from another EU country - fairly sure I remember Sky took her to court and lost.

That's a really good article.

The last part of the article is the bit that gets me.

If I've paid several million pounds for my brand to be on an F1 car and viewed on a good weekend by 6 million people, I think I would be looking to re-negotiate the contract.

I also looked into whether the BBC license fee was able to be challenged in euro human rights court. If I don't want to watch the BBC, why am I forced to pay for a TV license?

That Adam Parr seems a complete knob.

According to Bernie, this is all really down to the BBC backing out of it's original contract and bringing in Sky. Funny though if the rumours are true that C4 wanted the other half but BBC blocked it as a competitor - yet the BBC own S4C. They could have at least shown the other half in Welsh :D

Because you cannot, at present, buy a television that can be prevented from receiving BBC broadcasts. Been tested in the courts before.

Not aimed at anyone, but you buy a licence. Not a license.

Adam Parr is a complete knob jockey. I wouldn't be surprised to see him out of Williams within 2 years. Everything he says is wrong, how he conveys himself to the media is wrong, his understanding of the sport is wrong.
He is a finance man, nothing more.

He reminds me of our 'so-called' government leaders.

Fair point really considering just how long they have been involved in it.
