EngineMapper @ Group B Motorsport 04 March 2011 09:21 AM

Cheers Rich, did see that ABW were doing them now.

R1CH D 04 March 2011 09:25 AM

I got them on mine, love the look.

EngineMapper @ Group B Motorsport 04 March 2011 09:26 AM

It's such a simple addition that really makes them look agressive doesnt it?

R1CH D 04 March 2011 09:27 AM

Oh yes it certainly transforms the look.

Are you retaining the centre latch for the bonnet simon (sorry cant see but assume you are not).

The aerocatches spaced that far apart on an ally bonnet may cause "issues" at speed.

R1CH D 10 March 2011 02:40 PM

Apparently the engine build on that black car was £75000. thats what I was told anyway.:thumb:

Thanks, pins were on that bonnet when I got it

I was going to originally keep slam panel and oe catch bit was too much messing around just to keep slam panel.

So I will be fitting one of two more areo catches.

What you laughing about, a respected source told me that it cost that amount. you know different do you?

vulnax999 11 March 2011 09:01 PM

Not laughing at you/at all really, wondering where to get a good deal like that following on from JGM's that's cheap lol reply.

Nope, my bad, I missed a 0 from the price ... thought it said £7500!

£75000, I know of at least 1 other car that cost that for the engine works.

I would quite happily organise a build of any subaru engine you want to any realistic spec for half that ;) lol

Infact for £75000 I could probably include a car with the engine lol

It was all mocked up on a car in britain and then then all removed and shipped to Serbia where it was built on the actual shell. It was built by RA motorsport developments in Perth by Andy Napier who is ex AWD motrosport. From what I heard from Andy himself the whole build was more like £95k but that was from start to finish.

Back to the point when you going to hurry up and finish this car Simon? You are nearly as slow as me well not realy I have done nothing but buy parts for a year :D

I am away mapping at the moment but hoping paint shop will have made progress whilst I have been away.

Engine bits are getting close, at least I hope so ;)

its still all plodding along.. hopefully engine and painted shell should all meet in the middle soon..

popped in on paint shop yesterday and prep on the outside was nearly complete, smoothing of dents I knew about and ones I didnt or probably wouldn't have noticed.. they appear to be doing it 110%.

Steve at SMG is doing the machining and pinning of the block and building the heads and getting the cams made etc.. cams very close to complete, block close to complete..
heads are now ported and need the combustion chambers reworking and then valve seats cut and building up etc.

In the mean time I have been buying bits and pieces.. heated screen, wing mirrors, registration etc
