Bad luck yesterday mate, was good to meet you though.
|
Maybe a long shot but does anyone have a bore scope that they could lend me (or do it for me so they know what they are looking at) so i can see what damage has been done to my engine before i decide what to do next
Thanks Ian |

Thanks Ian How about the company Deaniage used:idea: |
Bad luck yesterday Granby, keep your chin up. You looked like you were adamant you were going to get it running again.
Dont bother with the borescope, just get the engine whipped out and pulled apart (heads off at least), you know piston number 3 is fubarred, so looking at it with a borescope isnt going to tell you any different. Good luck with the next phase. |

gutting :(

Got my spark plugs back from NGK today after they examined them to find out why one should break up
There conclusions were that it was caused by severe overheating and that is was down to abnormal combustion Abnormal Combustion Abnormal combustion reasons include ignition timing related problems, oil entering the combustion chamber, leaking fuel injector or spray pattern etc Attachment 52023 |
where did the tip of the electrode go??? out the exhaust?? what's the condition like piston/valve/seat etc wise..............
NGK unlikely to say it was their plug that failed i guess?!?! |

I may have missed something, but how do you know exactly that the piston has 'gone'?
I suspect that compression is down, but is the engine breathing excessively? |
