They arent genuine karlton flares, at least the fronts arent anyway. Look at the angle the front flare and arch flare is cut at. All karlton flares are cut to match the join between the bumper and arch, horizontal, those arent cut the same. My guess is they are home made.

2 questions
1/is there a set that fits the hawkeye version specifically not adapted
2/what is actual cost
really need someone to get a set fitted to ascertain how much work is needed to fit

This car arches are made of sheet metal. (Similar what you can find from golf mk1) Not fiberclass.

Here's some more project pics.

Some photos of our build so far, havent had much time to complete it yet but you get the idea. Keep in mind that we had to chop the flares down to suit our aftermarket skirts that are blended in. If you have standard bodywork you wont need to do that they'll bolt straight on :thumb:

They are original Karltons, as I said above I have to chop mine to fit our aftermarket skirts if you have standard bodywork you wont need to. Im just putting them up so people can see the build.

Look at the black wrx, apart from the winglet hole the flares follow the lines perfectly :thumb:

You cant use our demo car for photos to see how they fit, our car doesnt have standard body work so I have had to chop the flares down a lot to get them to fit. Maybe it was a mistake me putting them up I just wanted to show the work involved with cutting out the arches etc

For instance this shot here shows the flare stopping high up above the skirt because I had to chop it so I can blend it in. If you see the one below on the standard bodywork you can see where it fits perfectly.

This is also the same for the rear. I will get photos up of our demo car once its complete but it wont look anything like a standard car due to the amount of fibreglass work I will be putting into it to get it how I want :thumb:

I told you you'd get it this week and you have, I spoke to you on numerous occasions and explained the problems I have been having which you said you understood.

Your deposit has been returned as I promised within the time frame I said.

I also want to say that not many businesses would have given you a refund for a product based on the reason you gave me, I think I have been quite good to you when I could have turned you down and kept your money.

Byers 20 June 2014 01:23 PM

Money back thanks.

Thats exactly it most people dont understand the work involved in fitting these, its not an easy job but very rewarding when its complete

I have been told that Karlton is no longer making the flares, a few USA distributors of his have stopped advertising them.

Byers 29 July 2014 01:53 PM

I agree there is a lot of work but starting with a poor product is not a great start... I bought some abw ones and they line up perfect and the product itself is fantastic finish

BenC 29 July 2014 02:08 PM

The 2 sets of flares are very different from each other. Both are a direct bolt on which I have seen first hand but they both are designed differently. Karlton flares are a lot more difficult to install, everything has to be lined up perfectly before being riveted into place or they dont look right, all you need to do is look at the forums in USA of 'self DIY' where people who didnt know what they were doing had a go at installing them but messed up the car. The flares are very successful across the world so they must fit otherwise Karlton would have went out of business overnight.

ABW flares dont have the separation between door and front bumper where as the Karlton ones were designed so the front bumper could be removed easily for future mods etc and also take a bit of impact which happens a lot on US stanced cars. It all depends on the finish you want, there are other flares available in the USA but everyone chose Karltons due to the design and also 11" wheels you can fit under them.

I had the same problem mate with him as well took ages.. Hence him being kicked of our website.. I then bought a set of abw arches they fit perfect yer they not karlton flares but very similar. And also fit properly to the body and a quality finish. And before you pipe up with a reply like you do Ben e-mail me any problems you have and I'm sure I can sort it for you.
