The main expense is behind me now. These are the final bits..................for now ;).

Be real glad to have it back as it is the only form of release from my work.

The work durations are long but I know deep down it will be bang on when I collect it.

Hey, Birthday Boy, you in the States now Hugh ?

Mad Hammer 04 May 2009 04:28 PM

Went to the pod today and yet again another broken shaft :( Only managed 2 runs before this and the first run I missed a gear and did 11.6 and second was 11.3 @ 125 with a horrible wheelspining hitting rev limiter 1st gear launch. Plus point is car is obviously quicker since new larger injectors went in and last map :)

Met Stevebt down there too and he managed 12.2 with his car full of his weekends travel gear :)

Vid of each of our runs -

Would have been if I hadn't broken it :)

You can but ... 'mega bucks' I am hoping that my old 2 rear shafts were just old and were nearing the end as it were, as it's the other side I have broken this time.

Shame you snapped a drive shaft. It was one empty day to get lots of runs in if you are local :)

SkullFudge 04 May 2009 10:58 PM

Good vids Hammer.

Not again !..... I would go for the ones on Sy's link mate. Your car looked good and heading for 10's soon :thumb:

Have you got LC Clive?, it sounded like Steve used it on his run ?

What RPM did you launch?

No LC on my car, just the right foot :)

Would have done a 10 yesterday with a good launch, car is so much better now since the last map.

Steve has LC with his Autronic ECU

Spoke to Paul this morning and ordered 2 new shafts from Jap Performance as he does not have one in stock (that's probably yours and my fault!). Don't think fronts and rears are interchangable ? What rear diff do you run with your Forrester box btw ?

Street challenge is here fella as I am sure you know :) RWYB - Street Challenge - Tables 2009

We need to move up to 1st and 2nd though, when you next at the pod ? I am planning 16th May

SleeperSy 05 May 2009 12:12 PM

I have spare fronts as well.

3.54 rear R180 (not sure what type of LSD thou) as my box is from a uk 06 sti 2.5 wide ratio box which has 1.1:1 drop gears and the diff came from the same car - my new gearbox when it arives will have a matching 3.54 front diff as it dosen't have drop gears.

If I have had my CC number on the back a few weeks ago when I did a 10.6 I would be up there I guess.

Sy

Anyway its all epidemic now as Skull rekons he will be Numero Uno on his first run.

Same diff as myself then, you just have the longer ratios. I may have seen that 10.6 you speak of :)

Skull no.1 on his first run, now there's a claim :)

P20SPD 05 May 2009 02:01 PM

Steve, i now see why the commentators were saying your gear changes were crap :D ;)

LOL, and I was trying to make him feel better when I said 'you just need some practice' :)

stevebt 05 May 2009 06:36 PM

I know the car should do low 11's but the driver isn't :D Clive there was loads of people on sunday telling me they could see my gearchanging/missing gears was really bad :D

stevebt 05 May 2009 06:46 PM

The resident photographer was telling me to get my car entered in for the street challenge, he also said to get some practice in so I didn't embarass myself if I entered :D

LOL, cheeky bugger :)

Mad Hammer 05 May 2009 06:55 PM

BTW Steve, PM me your email address if you want a better quality copy of the vid

stevebt 05 May 2009 07:05 PM

Cheers, my email is in my profile. I couldn't believe how slow it looks when I pull away compared to how it feels in the car. Even on that run the car was spiining on launch and gave me a 1.9- 60ft, the day before I was getting about 1.6- 60ft's but a hell of a lot more missed gears :)

I will pop it across. 1.6 ! Oh for LC :) Mine in the vid was 1.9 :) Best I have ever had is 1.7 something

stevebt 05 May 2009 07:32 PM

What were you at the 1/8th on with your 11.3 run ?? Looked at the slips I had for sunday and the 1/8th were about 7.7/7.8.

Shaun 05 May 2009 07:55 PM

Steve,
That run is not that bad.... I have seen a lot worse. Just take your time mate and don't rush with panic. Been there and done that! :D

stevebt 05 May 2009 07:58 PM

Shaun the boot was full of bags etc as we had been away for the weekend so there must of been about 40kgs in weight in there :)

Shaun 05 May 2009 08:12 PM

When I ran mine at the start of 2008 down at Stratford, I was trying to be that quick that I pulled the gearstick knob off twice. More haste (sp?) less speed me thinks...... literally. :D When you build up your own pressure on yourself, it will always go Pete Tong. Try some yoga before you set off down the strip. :D

It will come mate.
