Just picked it up today. Feels great now. I've not gone near 4,000rpm yet after I've done 4-500 miles, I'm going to get Andy to map it. He showed me the piston and the ring had broken in a few places. I got a Prosport exhaust in the end with a sports cat and it sounds great and isn't too loud either. I'm well chuffed. I'll get some good pics up hopefully over the weekend. :thumb:
Have you got it booked in with Andrew Carr yet? |

Does anybody know what colour springs the spec-d has as standard? Thought the Sti had red springs but mine look like they're grey/black.
Any ideas? Regards Rick |
Thanks to the pair of you for clearing that one up.
Regards Rick |

Can I ask how much you got for the springs/ did you sell all 4?
I couldnt even give them away to be honest! I put them in the for sale section on here. There was only one taker and that was after a few days as I put in the listing that I was going to tip them by the weekend! In the end the deal was he collected in exchange for 8 cans of beer! Seems ridiculous but I just couldn't get rid of them |
Did my Spec D ever make it back on here?
I sold it to a lad off here, but he sold it on again as was on PistonHeads a few months back. Car is in my profile still. I do still miss it sometimes. Great car. |

They were complete struts and I only had the front ones, as the back ones had knocking shockers they were left with the guy who fitted the coilovers.

Hope it was replaced well ? I'll keep an eye on the thread though in case the old girl turns up. A lot of time and money was spent on that car, so it would be nice to know it went to a good home. |
Hi Guys, thought i'd stick mine in here too
Got my Spec D last july, this is my second one I previously had another Spec D PPP which I bought back in December '09 but had a rather nasty accident and unfortunately the car was written off. Took the car to Scoobyworld for their stage 1 power upgrade and got 340bhp. Earlier this year I went to Powerstation and got their stage 1 handling upgrade. Nearly a year into ownership and still absolutely loving my motor! :luvlove: Not got an up to date pic but this is from when I bought it http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...2072010271.jpg |

Excellent! I sold my old car to scoobyworld its now their project car. I could do with having a trip down there soon to check out all the moda they have done and to see what they could tempt me with for the spec d |

Got it booked in with Andy on Wednesday so leaving it with Adam on Tuesday night so he can put some thicker oil in and change the filter and also check that all the work he's done is still in order. I'm sure Wednesday day I'm going to feel like a kid at Christmas! :luxhello:

I have now reduced it to £8000 on ebay with no reserve and not had a single call or bid. The Market must just be dead.

I have got mine up for sale now on pistonheads and ebay for £8750.00. Does this price sound right for a 2006 with 64000 Miles FSH 12 months MOT and 6 Months Tax?

Alright guys, can't believe I've never noticed this thread! I got mine in September 2010. Completely standard apart from wheels sprayed Black. You might want to make that 301 Spec D's out there as mine was meant for Malta but first registered in the UK. Got a great price on it at the time. Took it to Prosport near me to have 30k major service (got a major bill to go with it!). To then find that I have compression issues. I was waiting about 2 months for the garage to quote me a price for a rebuild with forged pistons, uprated fuel pump, downpipe and all the other little bits I needed to put her right. Never even rang me back, everytime I chased him got some bulls**t excuse. What a TWOT. So in the end i've gone to Autotecnica in Buxton. He's still got her at the moment as he's had the heads skimmed, putting in drop in pistons, new head gaskets, and putting her back together again. Oh yeah and a Cobra exhaust as apparently the one I have on it now is choking all of my power away!!! I'll be putting a load of pics on here when I get her back. I think the best bit about picking her up is the journey back down the famous Cat & Fiddle road. Here's some pics of how she was before I realised she's a lemon
The reason I ask is that Spec Ds came with no badges other than the Subaru logo front and rear combined with the fact that the number plate is not recognised by my iPhone app. Edit - Just seen the Malta bit but still not sure because if registered in UK I would have thought number plate would be recognised!! Anyway, another to add to the list - not seen this thread before. See my Garage for pics. |
Forgot to add it was first registered 30/03/07.
Must be one of the last! |

According to http://howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/sub...wrx_sti-spec_d
it looks like there are 234 spec D's left, of which 13 of them are on SORN's |
hi guys. just got her back from the bodyshop as the front wing and bonnet wasnt same colour? now looks mint again ;)
Having owned 5 other scoobs including the type r v-ltd in the past, and moved away from the impreza to the world of vectra vxr and bmw 330 and mazda rx8 etc, i simply could not find a make which made me smile, so i came back to the scooby world and must admit these spec d cars are a real wolf in sheeps clothing! |
