Just got back from wraptor in Alcester, I've had full de-chrome, rear light tints, 20mm spacers, carbon mirror caps and the braces behind the grill wrapped in red, dudley @ wraptor is a super nice guy and definitely has a keen eye for quality.

Rear boxes now fitted, sounds like a V8 should sound with an off-beat burble on low revs rising to a deep rumble.
I think it needs to be de-resonated though in the center section as it's missing that crackle especially on downshifting. perhaps an x-pipe center is needed. Not much to report lately, car has been sat for a month as I contracted cellulitis in my right leg which has left me in a bit of a situation, spent 2 weeks in and out of hospital on a daily basis having iv antibiotics battling the infection, the damage to my leg is quite severe with ulcers/blisters all over it and most of the skin destroyed.
still not showing signs of healing very well so i will continue to be off work for a while. I have just renewed the warranty on the jag for next year including jaguar assistance for peace of mind. Can't believe I've had this car nearly a year, I was worried about buying a JLR product as horror stories are aplenty but mine hasn't gave any issues other than a led failing in the rear light which was swiftly swapped out under warranty, honestly I would drive this car anywhere, it feels like its built like a tank the engine seems bomb proof and the gearbox is simply excellent. yep I still love it as much as when I first bought it. |

So i dropped the jaaaaaag off @ E & E services in milton keynes on wednesday for a fair bit of work including an mot......
- service B, air filters, oil & filter,coolant change,aux belt, supercharger belt & pollen filter. - gearbox service using genuine ZF filter/fluid. - rear diff oil change. - new battery as the current one was the original so nearly 9 years old. - aircon clean & regas - check and report the washer pump and control junction box for and sign of water ingress as this can cause a major issue and the warranty do cover water ingress so i wanted to know either way, came back all clear with no signs of corrosion or leaks so its either been rectified in the past or my car wasnt affected by it. so happy about this as the new CJB is around £2500 + fitting and programming. - mot i was also meant to be having the water pump done but the guy said its not really needed, i only booked it in as i thought @ 8 years old it may need one so didnt bother with it and saved £500 instead. i did ask him to have a scout round for any tell tale signs of leaks which he did and found nothing so happy days. They found a split intake pipe from the 2 airboxes so i agreed for them to replace it (not a warranty item so had to fork out just over £200 for it). The mot threw up a couple of issues which were the front brake pipes corroded and the front banana arm bushes were worn and starting to split (both of these were advisory items) so i asked if they could talk to jaguar warranty as i have £750 of mot cover with it HOWEVER for them to pay out the car must fail the test and not be an advisory so i asked them to fail it and see what they could do, only the brake pipes were covered under warranty so i had to fork out for the banana arm bushes which were around £240 for both supplied & fitted, other than that a clean bill of health, they fitted the bushes before the mot was updated so it doesn't show up on there only the pipes do. they also fitted free of charge a set of genuine jaguar front brake pads they had lying around as mine were of cheap quality and starting to break up,as i had spent so much with them they did it as a good will gesture which was nice, also got a free alingment with the bushes :) cannot fault them at all, kept me updated all the way and nothing was done until i gave them the go ahead. the master tech there was really impressed with my car, said its a really good example...............nice when you get a compliment like that. the gearbox now shifts so smoothly, it wasnt bad before but now its silky smooth. happy shrekky :) |

Hope your chest infection gets better, i keep thinking im gonna have a cold but it never seems to arrive,knowing my luck it will arrive on xmas day. i will have a gander at your flaps (oo-er) i went with the shorter version i think from scoobyworld. |

so had my 1st issue with the jaaaaaaag last week, was using the car on monday to go to hospital appointment,got home monday evening and parked on my drive as usual.
woke up next day @ 2am for work and off i went, made it to the main road at the bottom of the estate and i could hear an awful tinging sound, got out and had a look around underneath but couldnt see anything. sounded like a heat shield was loose or i had caught some steel banding from somewhere and was dragging it around. car drove fine and whats weird is the sound starts from around 10mph and doesnt go away until you get back down to 10mph however it didnt get faster with speed. anyway had a mate from work listen outside as i drove and vice versa and we agreed it was coming from drivers front wheel. took it down to my local land rover specialist who stuck it on their ramp and took the wheel off, turns out it was a backing plate to stop **** going over the bottom arm joint, never seen anything like it to be fair,it was long and thin with a square paddle shape at the end. caliper and disc off revealed it was riveted to the actual hub and that had snapped causing this shield to flap backwards and forwards against the brake disc. tried to put a self tapper in there but it was just chewing the alloy hub up so a good old zip tie came in handy :) bunged him £30 for a bit of ramp time and off i went, i did remember hitting quite a nasty pothole the night before it started so maybe that caused the rivet to fracture. decided that this year the big cat will probably get moved on to make way for something else, it was never going to be a long term keeper anyway. still enjoying it and in no way am i bored of it however there are other cars i want to experience before we are all forced to TRY & drive around in spaggy electric milk floats........ whats next for the shreksta??? who fecking knows, still would love an m5 but also starting to take interest in the porsche panamera gts which can be had for around the same money as the jaaaaaaag. also still really like the brutish 6.4 NA hemi v8 jeep grand cherokee. choices choices............. |
