haha, afraid its time, as the saloon is pretty much identical to my old hatch inside I've been looking at the same dash for around 6 years, its time I looked at something different.

Looking at the market the Saloons seem to be holding their money ok so as soon as I get it serviced I can pop it up and see what interest is like.

Been too scared to touch this car, but I am planning to swap my exhaust on Saturday. Where's the best place to jack on this model? Still the diff carrier?

Also, what are the specs for our wheels? I'd quite like to obtain a winter set.

Did you not get an Owners Manual?? :D:D

Can also use the jack on the sills

Jay Cartay 18 September 2015 10:29 AM

Cheers Don that's awesome. I do have a manual, but I didn't have it to hand.

I was told not to jack cars on the diff itself, so wasn't entirely sure about that. Doesn't look like there's any good spots on the sills for axle stands though.

Jay Cartay 18 September 2015 12:02 PM

BTW, as I found an S202 turbo intake hose in my garage last night, do any of you know if it would fit our cars? These engines don't change that much, after all!

abre 19 September 2015 09:19 AM

A trick for jacking on the sills is to use a hockey puck with a slot cut in it to spread the load.

So, I have decided that I am either going low level WRX style spoiler or the Seibon carbon one after seeing Don's on one of the FB groups last night with a link to the item itself. Doesn't seem bad value at all once you factor in not having to paint it or get the bootlid kit etc.

Was going to go the Seibon route myself , seems like a straightforward and cost effective option as you say when no paint required etc, unfortunately , need a full set of tyres shortly and a oil change so any more mods on hold for now :(

cheers

Cheers Hughy, always reassuring when someone says something like that.

Was planning on an e92 M3 but now decided on an A45, wife was not keen on RWD so the Merc fits out needs pretty well, they are pretty quick too!

Great choice, not heard a bad word about the A45, very quick as well, get in touch with http://www.collinsperformance.com/ they can do a re-map and it makes a quick car in to a very very quick car......:thumb:

Abx 14 October 2015 06:47 PM

Yep, believe they are forged as standard and for under 1k can get into the 400's and under 4's. Will keep you posted once I've had some real life experience of one.

Shaun 20 October 2015 12:49 PM

I wonder how many of the 1700+ A45 owners are ex Scooby boys!?

Littleted 20 October 2015 04:42 PM

Abx 20 October 2015 09:43 PM

Just a question for those with a Hayward and Scott back box exhaust fitted. What is the sound like compared to standard, and whats it like when on the move in the cabin and on a motorway run? I've had a look on here and the net but would like owners reports on it if possible.

Cheers

Brings the burble back.

No worse than any other system with most of the internal "noise" emanating from the boot area, which is only really noticeable when the seat backs are down.
