Car produced 341bhp in sport and 299bhp in sport sharp.

I cannot divulge how it was fixed as I signed a confidentiality agreement

hi Tony

I must admit that I very rarely drove in S , normally in 'I' round the doors and 'S#' when I needed something extra
I guess as a 'safe" subaru approved generic map , it ticks some boxes above standard but just felt altogether lacklustre,ok but not exactly inspiring
I can recall some of your earlier posts and issues around the pack but its interesting the issues between the S and S# modes
Appreciate your discretion , and to be fair at the time my car was still under warranty and on standard internals so the PRO R pack was an acceptable compromise.
I was under the impression that the PRO R system was produced by Scorpion and as a stainless 304 system it must disappointing that it has failed after such a relatively short period.

Matt I know about ten 340r saloon packs and my makes the 3rd one that has fails rattling. Some of them not bothered with warranty wanted better looking back boxes or not as old as mine. To be honest not great quality.

My car in sport # straight after engine starts. It's never seen I mode

My car was a 320r and went really well. So I Bought and upgraded it as soon as 340r pack out. Car sounded much better but Fuel consumption was then dreadful.

Notice that it wasn't pulling as well as did before. I had done one dyno run but in sport and that was 340bhp 👍 so though it was me. My mate with black 340R having same issues. We made many attempts to get it addressed with dealers & pro R but was fobbed off. Dealers were great to be honest they were let down by pror IMHO

we took to a rolling road but mine was 299bhp his was 294bhp. He was VERY %%%%%%% off.

He then went down legal routes. ProR to there's and his up to RCM and rolling road to fix but pror couldn't get his or my mates to achieve anything over 305bhp.

He had on finance So it was classed as a lemon. they bought his car off him and sold him a cossie

Bought mine cash so struggled to get mine fixed. Eventually got SUBARU to agree to take it to an independent expert and he fixed it. But I cannot name who under confidentiality agreement.

I was told that something the tumbler valve were operating during sports# when they shouldn't be. This fault explanation may not be 100% correct but sounded feasible to me. Car certainly went better.
My fuelling map was not altered or tweaked although it was very very rich. He said he will remap it after warranty up.

85k on a 320r and not a single problem with the engine. Shame about the body! Tin worm everywhere. Also a recall on brake pipes.

Really disappointing IM got you to sign a confidentiality agreement Tony. I suspect it was really a no shop agreement as it is difficult to believe what they did was confidential. They just didn't want to admit there was a problem.

The turbo maxes out at 345bhp so anyone with figures above that has been on a uncalibrated dyno or an adjusted figure.

I've not heard about brake pipe recall :nono:

I don't blame them really, as would be more to do with company embarrassment Rather than to hide a fault. And this was the only way I could get the car repaired.

I've been told 355bhp max.

I am indeed pal, sold the RS when I seen the STI advertised with a dealer from Burton, will put a few pics up when I get her back from the garage as its having a bottom line kit fitted and other things painted, but its a 2011 STI in Black with the following spec..

Year/Reg: 2011 (11) Mileage: 19,100 Engine size: 2.5L Fuel type: Petrol Gearbox: Manual Body style: Saloon Colour: Black

  1. Engine rebuild inc, lightweight forged pistons, 14 mm crankcase bolt modification , matched arrow conrods ,cosworth headgaskets & bolts, cosworth baffled sump ,, Upgrades - Alcon pro r 365mm front discs with 6 pot calipers, 19 inch prodrive alloys, genuine subaru 340 up grade, Sat nav high fi upgrade, spec c suspension, Cruise control, Alcon pro r 330mm rear discs with 4 pot calipers, Next MOT due 01/06/2016, Last serviced on 12/01/2015 at 18,417 miles, Full service history, Excellent bodywork, Black Part leather interior - Excellent Condition, Tyre condition Excellent, Four wheel-drive, Standard Features - Climate Control, Alarm, Alloy Wheels, Computer, Electric Windows, In Car Entertainment, Upholstery Cloth/Leather. 5 seats, BLACK, high flow oil pump & gallery mods, cosworth baffled sump , modified crank bearings Hayward & Scott exhaust , engine work was done when the car had done 7500 miles . Sat nav systems supplied, Full bottom line kit, (front splitter, side and rear extensions and rear diffuser)
The only reason I went for this one is the work its already had done on the engine, so hopefully I don't need to worry about it going pop, I've had a look at the paper work from Roger Clark and the bills come to over 14k on the engine alone and another 2.5k on the brakes ...:)

I've had X 3 RS's now and loved them, had the CP400 pack put on two of them and they where one hell of a car and drive, but when I went and test drove the STI, well all I can say is I smiled all the way home, and the RS was sold the next day......:D:D

Looking forward to driving it over the summer months now.....:thumb::thumb:

Cheers

Hughy

That sounds a nice spec.

Where do I need to look to see if I have the subwoofer in my 2012 car? And can Pro R parts still be bought from the dealer for these?

Does anyone else find their steering annoyingly light sometimes?

Tony, how have you found that exhaust system you bought?

As pod options are quite limited went for Defi ZD advance multi display (oil temp, oil pressure, water temp, fuel pressure with a few other display options)with a 60mm boost gauge in pillar pod - for some reason multi display doesn't support boost readings

The Pro R subwoofer looks like this behind the back seat

https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...71c7126800.jpg I got mine off eBay at some saving off list.

In regards to the steering, it is light but you get used to it and it does have enough feel. I tried the 2015 model and found the steering very heavy in comparison.

So in the boot area? Is it covered over or clearly visible? I don't have one if it's the latter. But that model number being printed on the grille may make it easier to find one :thumb:

My speakers etc. sound very good in comparison to the old cars so I'm happy with them. I am sure I don't have the sub though and that bothers me massively!

Am I likely to have the wiring for it already?

Hughy 10 August 2015 04:21 PM

You would notice if you have it :D it covers the slope behind the rear seat on the floor.

its not prewired, you have to run the wiring yourself.

Don may be along shortly with a better picture of his :D

Used to be the AVIC-F920BT now an AVIC-F950BT :)

Would check out the wiring behind the unit to make sure they've connected the amplifier feed to the powered aerial output (blue to blue/white wires)

Jay Cartay 13 August 2015 08:21 PM

Have any of you guys fitted new steering rack bushes? I did on my old Blob. I've seen some bushes from Whiteline but they're not the same thing.

Different setup to previous. Requires removal of X-member support plate for access.

Download Whiteline install guide here...........

Worth doing though? Probably another thing I'll have to wait for after the warranty ends.

Up to KT Green for some exhaust gaskets tomorrow possibly. Anyone know if you have to get specific ones for the Pro R setup?
