blacklist is quite good

Narchos - is definitely worth a watch if your interested in Pablo Escobar history

Luke Cage - the marvel comic isn't worth watching in my opinion, just too corny.

Level - on Friday evenings is worth the watch, quite a good weekly programme.

Paranoid - not doing it for me.

I can't get over breaking bad, i don't think anything else i've seen comes remotely as close.

I agree, but sometimes you need to move on.

The spin off, Sol or, Sal Goodman series was slow going which is a real shame.

If you liked breaking bad, then you may like Narchos

I'm housebound at the moment with a minor injury so with time on my hands I watch a fair amount of Netflix and Amazon - so this thread is very helpful.

Sopranos probably sets the standard but glad my old mum is not around to watch it :nono: I would strongly recommend 24 and have become quite a fan of the star of the show, Kiefer Sutherland, whose father was in the classic "Don't Look Now" where his sex scene with the once gorgeous Julie Christie is still talked about 40 years later. Did they or didn't they :norty:

Netflix also gives me the chance to watch old classics and one would be hard to fault "In the Heat of the Night" with Rod Steiger and "The Long Good Friday" with Bob Hoskins and a very sexy young Helen Mirren. So if these films are unknown to you give them a try. Last night I even went back to a Henry Fonda black and white movie "12 Angry Men" set in a jury room as they tried to agree the verdict on an abused kid who allegedly killed his father, again worth a watch IMHO of course.

I go for police corruption and court room stuff like say that Erin Brokovitch film. I am not interested in sci-fi or police chases and shooting at everything that moves.

More suggestions welcome. David

Watch 'The Honourable Woman' if you're interested in watching a series involving political conflicts (Israel-Palestine in this one).

Watch 'Forbrydelsen' if you like detective drama with political theme. Sofie Gråbøl as the detective is differently brilliant and House Of Cards' Putin/Petrov (Lars Mikkelsen) is in his element in it. Good looking guy IMO. Intelligent in real life as well.

I haven't wanted anything worth it since watching them. I must make an effort.

I haven't owned a TV for years and years..If you have the balls to throw your TV away, once you get over the initial shock of it, you feel free and you realise how brainwashing it is because you see and hear people in daily life all following the same narrative..The same political arguments they digested via the box, the same thoughts and opinions about products and people...The same banal crap talked about non celebrities...
Sometimes I see the TV listings comics in the supermarket and it's the same rubbish on the cover..A man and a woman with two moody expressions, and a third in the background looking distressed, with some BS headline like: "Sharon's revenge!!!!"
Utter 5hit..get rid of it.

So you don't read newspapers either then, or look online at the news? Yet you're on a PC or Tablet looking at social media? :lol1:

RICHARD J 03 September 2017 09:38 PM

Just finished watching Bloodline on Netflix. Didn't think it looked great but was recommended by a mate. Two episodes in and I was hooked, fantastic plot a must watch, and I've seen most of the others mentioned, Breaking Bad is the best IMHO.

asht88 03 September 2017 09:39 PM

I don't read a newspaper, I'm on a Mac and I don't do social media (unless you're calling this forum social media)???
:lol1:

I get my news from numerous sources though...Different radio stations, various web sites etc...I vary the news sources, so I'll see Russia Today and then CNN etc..

hux309 03 September 2017 09:48 PM

Babylon 5

Rob Day 04 September 2017 10:51 AM

I watched Narco's too, thoroughly enjoyed it, especially given it was written based on true events.

I've seen that Bloodline pop up as a "must watch" on my Netflix, but having watched the trailer didn't think much too it. I'll get through GOT first before I move onto anything else.

Yes I see this as Social Media :D

Where's the like button when you need it? :lol1:

I put off Game of Thrones, now watched it up to date, it's not that bad TBH the only downside is the Mother of Dragons, you know the one, ugly as sin and not horny in any way shape or form :norty:

Kwik 10 September 2017 10:35 AM

One that's overlooked is wentworth. Probably because of its cell block H roots lol. But it's a genuinely great series.

Power
Walking Dead
GOT (gets better)
Wentworth
Banshee
Breaking Bad
Sons of Anarchy

Theres loads more I can't think of at the moment.

lozgti1 10 September 2017 05:28 PM

Going to try Suits tonight

s450oby 10 September 2017 10:15 PM

PREACHER on Amazon is up there with the best imo

Rob Day 12 September 2017 12:49 PM

Shooter was also good, ended strangely in the latest Season, but sure it'll have meaning next season.

It bored me senseless ... I found it so slow and the attention to detail was overkill. It didn't start to get remotely interesting until the third series.

I think I am one of only a handful of people who don't see what the hype is all about with Breaking Bad and for me it could've been concluded in a couple of series but it dragged on for eternity. I persisted and watched it through to the end in the hope it would get better but sadly for me it didn't.

However, it's a good precursor for Better Call Saul (even though this is set before Breaking Bad). Now that, on the other hand, is sooooo much more watchable than Breaking Bad.

I've just finished watching this and thoroughly enjoyed it. Easy to watch and some nice twists in the plot. I was never really that bothered when it was first shown on TV so I decided to give it a go a few months ago and was hooked.

I've now started with Mr. Robot. I don't see that mentioned on anyone's recommendations so hope that's not a sign of things to come ?

Hey I was being serious ;)
But honestly it's got a brilliant storyline, if you like scifi.

American gods is worth a watch as well, mad sweeney is comical.

The exorcist is pretty good.

Rob Day 15 November 2017 08:14 AM

I started watching Slasher on Netflix - somehow carried on watching it although it is stupid, far fetched and occasionally poor acting! However I'm keen to see "who done it", so I'll passively see it through to the end!
