samsung are bringing a Note 8 out shortly (their competitor to the ipad mini) - something else for you to look at !

andy97 28 February 2013 07:28 AM

Hardly competition for the note. You can make calls and it has a stylus :-) haha

Ant 28 February 2013 07:51 AM

I've been given a galaxy tab 2 7" as a work phone!!!

I look a right tw@t using that as a phone !

JackClark 28 February 2013 08:17 AM

Get a Bluetooth headset, all those tossers you see with flashing blue lights on their ears... Galaxy Note.

Ant 01 March 2013 03:36 PM

Funny thing is we get called after 90 minutes on a job to check if we're ok.

How am I suppose to take a 7" phone up a telephone mast?

It lives in the van because I can't physically put it anywhere

darrenb87 01 March 2013 03:43 PM

I've got a nexus 7 and love it. For the price you cant go wrong.
My mums got the galaxy note and my sister has an ipad.
The note wins hands down imo.

Galifrey 02 March 2013 12:16 PM

Got a galaxy note II best phone I have ever owned just big enough to be a book reader and just small enough to be happy in my pocket.

An0n0m0us 06 March 2013 03:44 PM

I've got an ipad 2 64gb and a Nexus 7 32gb and i've hardly touched the Nexus. Going to stick in the local paper or ebay as it's a waste sitting around doing nothing. The ipad 2 is unbeatable in my view for a tablet.

scoobyverysoon 06 March 2013 06:47 PM

i have a note 10.1 tablet and a note 2 phone great bits of kits even the i phone fanboys like the note 2 at work they all want a bigger screen

I get teh same reaction to my Galaxy Note 2 and the way the market is going that size seems to be getting very popular with new 5.5-5.9 inch models coming from many others.

Gear Head 14 April 2013 03:15 PM

Well, the battery in the netbook has finally given up the ghost. So it's tablet time! Any news on when the iPad mini 2 is going to be released?

Ant 14 April 2013 03:54 PM

Just buy a full size ipad

Jamz3k 14 April 2013 04:15 PM

I'm still debating the whole Ipad thing, the money is sitting waiting to be spent on it but I think its an absolute con the difference in price between the 16gb and the 32gb. Ideally the 32gb would be more suited to my needs but in no way would I pay the price difference.

Gear Head 14 April 2013 05:24 PM

I'm just a tight git! :D

Apple pricing a con? Surely not?

Which is why I've gone for a Nexus 7. :thumb:

Lets hope I don't regret it!

Buy cheap buy twice.

Ant 19 April 2013 10:05 AM

If its anything like my 7" Samsung tab it will be ****e

JackClark 19 April 2013 11:13 AM

They're only good if you haven't tried an iPad.

So true!

Really? As I have tried an ipad mini and ipad 4 and thought the screen was better on the Nexus. As for usability, I was always going to find the Nexus easier to use initially as I have Android phones for the last 2 1/2 years. My main gripe with the nexus was if I could put up with the smaller screen.

You say you only provide people with honest advise rather than mocking someones choice.
Try practicing what you preach. :thumb:

JackClark 19 April 2013 11:16 PM

That was honest advice. Ask some more Android users if you like, the ones on this thread not enough for you. Anyhow, you'll love it, it's better than a huge phone.

Flaps 20 April 2013 08:32 AM

Lol, still not sorted yet?
I've now got both an ipad 3 for personal use and an ipad mini for work, much prefer the size and weight of the mini but the screen's a lot better on the 3 (really noticeable on the keyboard and when browsing the App Store) If I was buying now I'd wait for the new mini, best of both worlds then imo.

Gear Head 22 April 2013 09:04 AM

Happy with the nexus, although I still prefer a physical keyboard!
Still don't entirely get the whole 'tablet' fixation. :wonder:

But, Real Racing is rather addictive on it!

Littleted 22 April 2013 01:17 PM

just hang in there and wait for Ipad Mini retina, wont be long month or 2

then decide. but if I was me Ipad 4 or whichever Ipad ( BIG one ) they release next.
love mine and im a windows geek

Gear Head 31 May 2013 12:30 PM

After having a tablet for a month or so now, I really am struggling to love it. It wouldn't have mattered what the make was as the thing I really miss is the physical keyboard.

I will be buying a replacement battery for my netbook as not once did I have any complaints about it.

Littleted 31 May 2013 02:29 PM

I just have a cover with a keyboard gives me the fix for when I'm doing heavy typing

I use the iPad Logitech one, great thing

Yes I went ahead and got a mini just before xmas, love it but Apple were abit sneaky as I'm sure they could have delivered retina into version 1.

But, I think you are right. 16gb will do me though.

I think the Nexus 7 is a cracking tablet for the money but the aspect ratio is completely crap, especially for web/ebooks.
