I have taken a door panel off now and found that the speakers have been upgraded with some Japan only Alpine speakers. Unfortunately they should have tweeters with them but they haven't been fitted as the tweeter pods aren't there. I need to get the pods, but they need to be bought in from Japan. Does anybody know of a breaker with a post 2008 Impreza?

These are the speakers

What we talking about - Speakers?

If so, I took the front door cards off whilst fitting the JDM mirrors and the front speakers are 2 way, which is borne out by the UK car spec stating

"10 speaker premium audio system"

As I have said before, the wheels on the car at the moment are stunning, Immy is the only person who has seen them in the flesh and didn't like them. The only reason I would take them off is because I don't like dark wheels on blue cars. I'm in the middle of buying some of the original fittment alloys so the car will look like this...

Gold looks ok, but it's not for me...

I'm probably going to put a 4 channel amp in, with Infinity 6.1 Perfects in the front and some Infinity 2-ways in the rear, all of which I allready have! :)

Can I ask you guys with UK 4 doors, do you get the road surface transmitting through your throttle pedal?

Thought about this whilst out the other day and no.

The throttle pedal is attached to the bulkhead and nothing else "mechanically" (drive by wire), so yes you may be able to feel anything that would normally be transmitted that way.
However it would have to be something significant.
Sure its not being transmitted via your heel?
Wheel imbalance?

It's coming through the pedal box and can be felt through the brake pedal too. It's only bumps etc that can be felt. I wonder if it is something to do with the extra STI bar that I showed in some photos earlier in the this thread. I still don't really know the purpose of this accessory?

Could very well be as it's basically a lower strut brace.........

Thanks for that Don.. I still can't get to grips with that translation thingy?

That also has 2 brackets that are mounted up behind the sump cover.

That looks like one massive blue mennace looking machine!

As others have said, not a huge fan of the wheels but they're still OK and liveable.

STi Sports Parts catalogues are available in English too (via the button that says 'English' top right corner of Japanese page. :thumb:)

I like the look of the STI backbox upgrade, but they look to be about £1300 in Japan! :(

But I have sorted an exhaust anyway!:)

Interesting,

Had tried that before and it always dumped me back to the STi Global page saying items were for Japan use only.

Seems they've made a few site improvements :thumb:

It's a bit odd that as you go further into the site they make you click an agreement clause to agree that you know the site is for Japan only?

Just a quick update..

I have taken a rear door panel off and found the speakers have also been upgraded to Alpine DD Linears, I have also found that there is an Alpine active 150W subwoofer under the pasanger seat. I will, this week, be buying a 4 channel Alpine amp to run some Infinity Perfect 6.1s in the front and some Infinity referance speakers in the rear.

legacywr 27 November 2011 07:57 PM

While I was there I noticed wiring underneath the passanger seat. Is this for the airbag? or seatbelt warning?

juggers 27 November 2011 09:18 PM

You got electric Seats Rod so I assume it's for that and the airbag system.

amego 27 November 2011 09:59 PM

You don't want that I'll swap with you it's a cracker

legacywr 27 November 2011 10:06 PM

Only the drivers seat is electric Immy

As the wiring is yellow sleeved I would guess it's part of the airbag system.

legacywr 30 November 2011 06:10 PM

Got my original spec wheels this week (thanks to LUCKO!) and here are some pics :)
