Just to get this thread back on topic. It would seem to me that you would love an RB320 but are baulking at the price. I agree it looks the business but doesn't really do much more than a standard STI. Imagine the fun you could have if you bought a private sale STI for half the price of an RB320 and spent 5 grand on mods. Even if you sold your current car for a silly price just to get rid of it the numbers are still massively in favour of a UK STI. £30K is silly money for an Impreza, sorry.

to kill all the engines ??????????????????????????????????????????:eek2:
It cant be all the dealer ???????

i take it from the general tone of your post that you are in some way suggesting that it is my fault the engine is letting go.

if so, then im not going to even bother wasting my time in replying the long list of faults that have not been rectified on the vehicle.

one piece of information i will let you in on, is that when you put a rod through the block, you dont get a nice whole new shiney engine, you get whats known as a SHORT MOTOR.

one final point, if you took the car toits full potential up the drag strip, launching it at high revs every time, you chance blowing an engine EVERY time you do this. the cars are not built for drag racing mr clever clogs,

a bit of a touchy subject that you have just hit on there

NeilP1 26 December 2006 10:52 PM

i have driven all 3 of my cars to the edge and past lol and never had a gearbox clutch go or engine go on me in over 7 years so put up your list the cars arent that weak you got to be killin them some how with all the training the subaru lads get at the dealers they cant be the only one's in the wrong

can they ?
the scooby was a sprint car so high revs is not new to them

NeilP1 26 December 2006 10:59 PM

but high revs for long time is very bad so how fast and for how long did you blast your new un-run in engine

EVOLUTION 26 December 2006 11:10 PM

engines have been run in as normal.

do a search, there are alot of new age WRX'a that have given up.

you seem to be in the know, well, let me tell you, you clearly arent mate, there is a well known engine builder that frequents this site who know the problems and has dcumented this in several reports.

im not going to name him on here unless he comes on and posts, i doubt very much that he will as this really isnt the topic to do so and this is where will leave it at that. its off topic, and quite frankly, the engine rebuilt in my car has not been done correctly, and the LADS as you put it at aubaru, are not from subaru are they, they are mechanics that have done a weeks course on basic engine rebuilding, hardly experts, as if they were, i would not be having the bother im having now.

Totally agree :D:

Gosh your fairly profound :D:D but absolutely right

Might even have a look at a RB320 for myself ;)

I'm a big Scooby nut as the next guy... Some would probably say more. I for one will be buying the £30k RB320 and getting to as many meets as possible. I also run "THE" internet sites. Getting this car doesn't put me into a non-enthusiasts group... Did brand new WR1 owners also get put into this bucket?
