If you mean me then I drove the Supra for a sunny afternoon on Saturday - I got a good few hours of mixed roads in and enjoyed it thorougly but I don't think I'll go for it as it's not involving enough for me right now :)

Was in search mode and dug up this old post all about v-tec and supra's.
Interesting to me because i have had a DC2 integra type r (190bhp) and a toyota twin turbo 6 speed supra (380bhp).Currently have a standard STI 7 (265BHP-ONLY HAVE IT A WEEK,already booked it in for a powerengineering upgrade).
First off i must say that the dc2 is possibley the best car i have owned so far.I mean i drove the ****e outa it day (8400rpm redline)and night and never had a single problem with it.its absolutely bullet proof and a great drivers car.1800CC and close on 200bhp is really good on a N/A engine.Everybody must say so.Fuel economy good too and not too many on the road like scoobys/evo.

As for the supra-IT looks the balls.Must be one of the nicest looking cars on the road.A nice one commands as mush attention as any ferrari.Power wise they come with 325bhp standard, all imports are making 350bhp at least.with a boost controler running turbo up to 1.2bar (BPU supra they known as) they make up to 380bhp.For 5k you can get a big single turbo and easily achieve a reliable 600bhp.Loads of power on a rear wheel drive.Very dangerous car even with 325bhp with an inexperienced driver as traction control is virtually non-existant.Most of these cars are now 10-13 years old.Such an amazing car. They are getting on a bit now though as mentioned. It is not an everyday driver i taught. And 400bhp and rear wheel drive and wet weather dont get on too well. Its a must own car at some point for any enthusiast. The attention i got in mine was unbelieveable.I loved driving it.

Have STI now and planning to mod it to about 400bhp.What made me go for it was the burble from the exhaust.its truly an amazing sound. That and v-tec sound are so unique. All these cars have their own amazing attributes and until you own and drive one day in day out we are in no position to comment negatively on them.
Thats my two pence worth

If you see a J-spec supra 99 Times out of a hundred it is modded and making at least 350bhp.I mean they rarely come off the boat without modifications.I too owned a supra up until a few weeks ago.

Thats different then ;) A stock TT from japland will make around 300-310 maybe even 315.

Nice filter, exhaust and decat (up to 1.2 bar - no more or bang!) and your seeing 370-380-ish, sometimes 400! So yeah - agree now you mention if modded, but no way at all stock............
