You've signed a hard working lad who has played out on the left for United and England when his correct position is centre forward. I think you've got a good buy, he's got a great attitude holds the ball up well and given the chance will score you goals if played in the right position.

Seems some are confusing him with Young :wonder:

I feel for Mata, looks like he's just been shunted onto the bench again with Falcao arriving.

Lets hope they all click and we can get back to playing some exciting football, soon !!

He no longer plays for United so you'll have wait a while until the Gooners rock up at Old Trafford ;)

jaygsi 09 September 2014 06:07 PM

Yea think hes a good player, not got the skill of Rooney or Van persie
And i agree now we have Falco got no chance at playing as striker, but i think he would be better else where on the field either cam or rw

Saying that you can ignore his 2 goals last night for England, i also agree with your comment i think he will do well for Arsenal and will be good for England to have him playing regular in premiership

I think he'll do well at Arsenal, just hope he doesn't score any goals when United play them!

 will do well for us

Encouraging win today but they need to do something with that defence as they was extremely lucky not to concede today. Also, Van Persie at the moment shouldn't be on the pitch - I don't know what is up with him at the moment but he just seems to need some motivation.

urban 15 September 2014 08:49 AM

Well that was a refreshing change yesterday.
Not great, but a very good start given the last 12 months.
Still very ropey in defence.

P1Fanatic 15 September 2014 09:44 AM

Only watched the extended highlights but our defence looked better playing a back 4.

RvP should be worried. He looked a yard off the pace of the game and with Falcao's arrival its rather congested up front.

Di Maria has hit the ground running. Some of his passes were sublime but just his general pace and willingness to attack. Its like having a young giggsy back. Great to have a proper left footer on the wing instead of that idiot Young. Rafael was better going forward than Valencia who just seems scared to run at decences these days.

A lot tougher tests to come but small steps in the right direction.

jaygsi 15 September 2014 12:07 PM

My 2 favourite players were Di Maria and Rafael, Di Maria was spot on played out of his skin, as said before like young giggs. Rafael was playing out of his skin aswell trying prove a point i guess.

I quite like young, don't know why he isn't played on the right now Di Maria is here, luckly welbeck didn't play amazing for Arsenal on Saturday. :luxhello:

Funkii Munkii 15 September 2014 01:42 PM

Much better performance, agree with the back four comments and without a doubt Di Maria is different grade what a fantastic signing and very Giggs like with his pace and the way he attacks the back four, the pass to RVP was sublime.

Personally I would have taken RVP off for Falcao

Just pleased we got 3 points although Harry has never taken a team to Old T with the intention of winning.

jaygsi 15 September 2014 02:52 PM

Agreed but Van p and manager are quite close so guessing thats why not, didn't think he played the best, but theres still time, needs abit to get back to full fitness

Now I know match fitness will be low for a while

jaygsi 15 September 2014 09:30 PM

Yea van p isn't match fit yet either, should of swapped them over on 60th min

Take off RVP rather than Mata for Falcao, not Falcao from the start. :)

Dead on, and absolutely.

Really looking forward to when Falcao has his match fitness back.

jaygsi 16 September 2014 12:30 PM

Thats correct and Van p and Falcao are not match fit yet

being a leicester fan all i can say is fcuking lol

Couldn't believe my eyes. Worst penalty decision I have seen for a long time but does not excuse an epic implosion of Spurs proportions. Glad to see the back of blackett for a few matches as some of his decision making has been woeful.

hodgy0_2 22 September 2014 08:13 AM

Just shows what a phenomenon Alex Ferguson was

Funkii Munkii 22 September 2014 11:30 AM

It's clear already this will be a two horse race between Chelsea and City and a mass scrap for the remaining spots.

None of the remaining teams are covering themselves in glory right now.

jaygsi 22 September 2014 12:36 PM

I'd be happy with 3rd place, it was poor penalty which changed the game, to be fair Man u have just lost there 3 top defenders, and replaced them with a young inexperienced or average players, there looking really good on the attack, its just defence is all over the place
