I'm looking at getting a local meet for next month one Sunday, was thinking the White Horse in Marshchapel with it being in between Louth and Grimsby, and a bloke used to use it for a car event before but sadly past away a few years back :( . They also have a big field at the back with a park at the side for kids to play on, for us with kids even though I might try leave them at home :D . So if I can get the nod from the landlord of the pub anyone interested ?

Already have a few interested

rsdub 26 May 2014 09:43 PM

sounds good to me

Eros 26 May 2014 10:12 PM

Nice one I will give the Landlord a ring tomorrow see if we can get it sorted. But if not been looking at a few other places. I did look at the Millhouse the other week but by the looks of the front field it's way too overgrown to set anything up there other than animals :D

Eros 27 May 2014 08:02 PM

Just to keep you updated the field at the back doesn't belong to them, but they're happy for us to do it. So I've emailed hopefully the person I need to speak with on the parish council just waiting for a reply :) So hopefully get a venue set up so we can do a meet once a month. I'm going to try get this sorted for the June 29th so gives enough time to get the word around and try get a venue for us sorted :D

Eros 28 May 2014 05:39 PM

Another Update:

Right I've now spoke to a woman called Pauline and she is going to get back to me before the weekend after shes had a meeting with the council about it. Does seem like this will be a go, seems like it's more of a trial run to make sure everyone is happy with us being there, and it's all kept clean when we leave because I did say I was looking for somewhere we can do it monthly. So some good news anyway :D will update again at the weekend or when I've had the call back. And start a new thread for it with more details

Eros 30 May 2014 07:25 AM

Update:

I'm needing to look at Public liability insurance just incase some numpty hurts themselves. (worlds gone mad) It's a car meet if you trap your fingers in a door it's your own fault :D But basically the pubs happy if we do it the 1st woman Pauline was happy. Then she spoke with the other council members now they want it :( but they have invited me to a council meeting on Thursday so will speak with them more then maybe.

But looking at the insurance today as well as other venues. There's the pub up the road a bit In North Cotes the Fleece Inn car park looks pretty big does have a playing field across the road but sure I will get the insurance thing pop up again if we wanted to use that to park on, but be ok for kids to ply on. But will speak with the pub's landlord 1st as a back up. if the White Horse falls through. :)

UPDATE 2:
I've replied back to Pauline saying I'm not willing to pay £265 for the year so have started to look at other places like I've said before will wait to see what the reply is with regards to it. I pointed out it's not making any money it's a bunch of people parking up to meet each other but at a convenient place where we can take family and have some food and a drink. So will see what she says but have another place just about sorted failing that.

Update 3:
Well look's like I might have found another place. I've spoke to the landlord at North Cotes The Fleece Inn he's happy for us to use his car park as long as it doesn't affect his sunday lunch times of 4 till 6 but it also has a playing field across the road from it that belongs to the village hall. I can rent this for £12 for the full day but going to ring the person I need to speak with tomorrow see what I can do. So look's like might be able to get the meet on the go, had some more interest from a couple more which is good seeing as I haven't posted anything as a definite yet :)

Just waiting on a call back now but so far all looks good to go it is going to cost me by the looks of it with the field but I don't mind too much. And we have the carpark on days we can't use the field witha place for refreshments and a kids playing area :D Will maybe look at a BBQ if we get enough people turning up :D

And RSdub I'm sure I have seen you around other car forums vx220 one just to name one. Can't hide anything ;)

Still waiting on a call back will ring them again next week if nothing

Spoke with Emma again today bloody another meeting again on Thursday :Whatever_ So will find out Friday. But going to pop back and speak with the landlord in the mean time so at least I can get it started to be organised some what. Well after this much BS I can see why we don't have many club/ car meets local to us other than the boating lake :(

I can now see why we don't have a local meeting in the area. The Fleece has pulled out and might as well said we're no longer wanted had no phone call either from the playing fields. I'm starting to think that people are afraid to make money. Only thing I've asked for is a place for us thats nice for the kids with us that have them I.E playgrounds and refreshments for kids and adults with meals if need be. Surely that brings in revenue to the village and pub with us being there and other maybe that are happy to come along and look around the subarus. It's like one door opens and another slams shut :(
Well I will keep trying I'm adamant I will have somewhere we can local meet. But public liability insurance seem to be the key factor here yet I know many others around the UK have no problems and not been asked. :(

Starting to feel like a gypsy asking for a camp site.

Eros 14 June 2014 01:42 PM

Right I think I might have found the perfect place. Whats peoples view on maybe it being done on a weekday evening and traveling roughly about 20 miles out of grimsby but might make it more beneficial for other towns to get to the meet up ?
Of course will have to put the date back now to get it all organised.

brocksey 16 June 2014 03:15 PM

Im game if its a tues or a thursday could try shuffle stuff about keep us posted

rsdub 16 June 2014 09:02 PM

Eros 16 June 2014 09:49 PM

Nice one I will, I'm determined to get something going in way of a nice meet going around here something like Surrey Scoobies meet be nice :D
Will find out hopefully tomorrow I can't see why they won't they hold a bike night on a Wednesday :)

brocksey 17 June 2014 12:36 AM

I mean would jug and bottle in holton le clay be any good big car park?

Eros 17 June 2014 08:49 AM

I did think about that too mate but thats when I was looking at Sundays awhile back, so crossed it off but certainly worth looking at again if this other place turns it down.I've already spoke to them just waiting on a reply. If it does get the nod the good thing is it's a bit more central for a guy from Barton upon humber wanting to go in his outback and anyone from the surrounding areas has a big Car Park too.

But the Jug and bottle works for me with it being straight of the A16 so I might give them a ring later as a back up :D

brocksey 17 June 2014 01:05 PM

Well I know years ago they welcomed a carclub we was in every month so its up to you but definitely up for it

Eros 17 June 2014 03:03 PM

Got it sorted now mate. Was more than happy for us to do it at the The Blacksmith's Arm's Hillrise Rothwell 15th July 6pm-9pm
Link here I've done for it
https://www.scoobynet.com/northern-e...l#post11451479

Be great could get a few of the guys from around Lincolnshire going, more so because he was telling me a Porsche Clubs starting a meet there in July also so be nice to out number them :D It's not on the same day though :) it will be just us, so just hope the weathers nice for us and we get a good turn out to make it a monthly thing :D

brocksey 17 June 2014 05:20 PM

Just been told by my dad good pub big carpark neat binbrook ?

Eros 17 June 2014 07:14 PM

It's that way on mate bit more closer to Caistor I would have said.
But the Pubs great nice little drive out of town good size car park like your dads said. Should be ideal for the Scunny lot if any of them fancy the trip out too. Just hope we have some nice weather and get a few to turn up should be a great start all being well :D

brocksey 18 June 2014 12:43 AM

Yer man sounds good shoukd be a laugh

Eros 18 June 2014 08:24 AM

I agree what it's mainly about posted it up on a couple of Subaru facebook places try get the word around. But even if only 5 or 6 of us turn up each month it's a start :D I know Surrey Scoobies only started with a few now it's a very nice meet up :)

brocksey 18 June 2014 11:01 AM
