Or better brakes to shut them :)

Thats a fair point, so how about making the slider go up and down as appose to left to right, that way it will stay shut as you never go airbourne :D

some snaps I took over the photographers shoulder at magazine shoot today.

Thanks to Steve@brightgreendetailing for taking the time to come and remove the rain off the car several times and all the road dirt it was covered in on arrival after I had some fun driving it about the last two days

jerry cans?.... :D

Jolly Green Monster 17 April 2012 09:19 PM

Well yes but not really ideal to drive from kent to rcm in it :)

even with stops to relieve my ear ache and fill the fuel tank lol

plus it would be cheaper to hire a trailer and tow it there compared to the fuel

Simon

Cant you add in some stop cock valves into the fuel lines, and turn off fuel to 4 of the other cyliners to preserve fuel, you will still have 240bhp at a third of the mpg from the other 3 cylinder in use :D

when I went to school (admittedly a while ago now) 3 + 4 = 7..... ? lol

Probably just program the ECU to cut the injector duty cycles to 2 / 4 of the 6 cylinders depending on load / speed / throttle position when a toggle switch flicked?

Is there any harm in doing that - not using 2 or 4 cylinders when running... or just more load on the firing cylinders &/or their crank journals/bearings?

lol! And am sure you wouldn't want to be a moving "Shell Garage" on the M1!

'tis funny as i've often thought of this. Say an "M" mode for motorway use, sit at 70 odd and surely you wouldn't need all cylinders firing for cruising. Then say an increase of more than 30% throttle position and then the ECU goes back to firing all.

Simon, you're the expert.

LOL. So around a gallon a minute. So thats averaging around 3 mpg ;) that's not bad, the average Joe does 10"000 a year it's only £22'500 fuel plus nos etc :lol1:

Well today started off relatively early (for me anyway) with loading the car with a few goodies needing fitting to the car and anything else I might need.
I then set off on the 70miles or so drive to TFS Racing to so Stew and I could do a number of jobs on the car.
I left just after rush hour in the hope I wouldnt get stuck in traffic but unfortunatly no such luck, its not really a car you want to be crawling along on the m25 in..
Some minor amusement with the attention the car gained in the petrol station with a couple of people wanting to take pictures etc..

So I arrived with stew without incident but fairly stressed, I had installed electric powersteering and so stopped a few times to check for leaks, although there werent any lol

We then set about welding all the joints on the exhaust to remove a few clamps

We also fitted a return to sump catch can and standard oil filler cap, removing the quick fix that didnt work that I had fitted previously.

A few other jobs sorted along the way including a bent trailing arm (it bent it trying to escape the dyno). Thanks to Bod for going to retrieve a replacement and CJ for dropping the camber bolts up.

We also fitted an SD motorsport gearbox mount and diff mount
Attachment 66671

The main reason for sorting it today was because I am taking the car to Blyton for a sprint on Sunday.. therefore the alignment was also sort by Stew

The solid box and diff mount have added a little extra noise but its all good noise

The car still wants to kill me when I do floor it but I seems to point in the right direction now, and at least I will die with a big smile on my face.
