In a recent Gallup Poll, burgers were the most popular convenience food, causing shops to run out of stock, but not furlong.
"It was just another hurdle to overcome" said a spokesperson.

I dotn know why people have to Stirrup all this, they get the bit between their teeth and there is no stopping them on that particular tack.

You think Tesco are bad, I've found traces of Sarah Jessica Parker in Asda ones!

SJ_Skyline 16 January 2013 07:50 PM

If you're worried about horse meat in your Tesco burgers you should try their sausages, they are the dog's bollocks. No, really they are!

It's a play on words,

Gallup > Poll
Gallop > What horses do

hodgy0_2 16 January 2013 09:47 PM

Agreed, and in the context of the thread and the sentence, it would have been better it had read a gallop poll

Just like at the end when you did a word play on hurdle and furlong (which I had already done on post 6 btw)

albob 16 January 2013 09:51 PM

I've just had one of those Tesco burgers - it was very nice and
I couldn't tell if it was beef or horse....

Hang on - i've got a 'bit' between my teeth........ ;)

The Mrs was just cooking tea when she asked "do you want anything on your burger" I replied "yeah, a fiver each way"
