The trouble with a set up is how many variables would you have to control, if the woman was planted there then fine but it is reported that she had worked at the hotel for 4 years. What would they have done asked chamber maids at random until one said yes ? Could an agent of some kind have spent time at the hotel to find the one woman already working there who was willing to alledge rape in exchange for money. It would have had to have been someone attractive enough to make him interested in sex. If they had asked other women to get involved and they refused then they would be talking to the press already. I personally cannot see how a setup could have been done without it being obvious. I would find it more realistic if he had had a consentual blowjob followed by his attempt at sodomy which offended the chamber maid and then she ran away. After all all she had to do was keep her mouth closed if she did not want to suck his dick.

It isn't too hard to do background checks on all the people working in the hotel, find one or more with cash problems and then sound them out. West African living in an apartment for HIV victims would be my candidate. Even more so if she has children.

Well it is largely conjecture at the moment. If he has been set up then he appears to be pretty poorly placed and in an awful situation. We shall have to see what sort of evidence is produced and whether the woman is of poor character and is lying.

If he is guilty then he deserves what he gets and on top of that he would have thrown an outstanding career away for the most ridiculous behaviour. That is the one thing that makes it difficult to believe that he actually did it.

Saying he has done it before is only valid if it was proved. I would prefer to wait before making a pronouncement.
