JonMc 30 December 2010 05:39 PM

I hid the dremel before he got here. All in, some pics to follow and more tomorrow when it's daylight. No drama's just took my time (for a change) and followed Frayz guide - big up to Frayz for all his hard work in producing it:thumb:

Always willing to help, and I have some really good cutting discs for my 'dremel' tool - diamond cutters and didn't even get through one:D

Rice Rocket 30 December 2010 10:49 PM

Looking forward to seeing the finished result Jon!

I think the worst bit was drilling the 1st hole when I fitted mine, after that theres no going back!

We'll need to plan a full day as is suspect there'll be a few subtle differences between the classic and newage in terms of pulling the car apart, but the meat of the work should be the same:thumb:

Plus, if I win the lottery and get my respray done sooner rather than later you can be detailing my car while I chop yours to bits:D

stephen beynon 01 January 2011 04:18 PM

looking really good jon hope to see it soon

JonMc 01 January 2011 04:25 PM

Just taxed it too, MOT time next:norty:

JonMc 06 January 2011 08:19 PM

Finished 2 days of smoothing today - fingers are red raw, pics to follow.

Big up to Stu (scoobystu5779) who came and did some welding for me. He TIG'd the flange back on my Blitz centre so I'll refit that soon:D and did some other bits despite having some reservations about the thickness of subaru panels. The jobs were spot on with me knowing the risks and I just need to fill and smooth these in:thumb:

darms 08 January 2011 12:14 AM

another productive day I see.....nice ;)

JonMc 08 January 2011 09:05 AM

I looked at removing the aerial from the a-pillar too, but the threads sit proud and there's no lip to weld a plate on to so it became too complex:(

martin850 08 January 2011 09:18 AM

Smooooth :thumb:

JonMc 08 January 2011 09:43 AM

It will be:D

Off to refit the blitz centre now:thumb:
