I guess SEATs are OK if you want a Golf in a slightly different body - i;d rather have something a bit rarer, faster, and more unusual, like, let me see, an STi perhaps...:cool:

I don't know why certain members think that VAG cars are cars to aspire to, in the past I have had VW Golf's and Passat's plus Audi A3's and A4's of various model types, the build quality on the current VAG cars quite frankly is cr@p. :cuckoo:

We have where I work a full range of VW Golf's and Passat's plus Audi A5's and I have to say having driven them that they are not half the cars that the older generation cars were. The dashboard's are the plastic equivalent of tinny, the panel gaps are inconsistent and the paint finish is orange peel. :eek:

The paint is the first thing that I noticed especially on the Passat as it appears they try to dry the paint too quickly after painting, there are only two ways to overcome this - either a wet sand detail or a total car repaint. :Suspiciou

They have had their day, sadly ..... and haven't kept up. No longer is sh1te interiors and cr4p build quality allowable - hell, it's not even the ballistic missile it was back in the day.

A Subaru Impreza was a performance bargain, that's what made it what it was - that and some imprezive Rally wins ........ it is no longer a bargain, it is matched in speed by many others and it doesn't appear on the Rally Stages of the world.

I feel sorry for those who missed out on the Classic years .... they were the best.

The last chapter has been written and the book is about to close on the Subaru FairyTale .... Subaru will return from where they came - looking after Farmer Giles with his sheep and Mrs Giles with her Justy.

So so wrong, how is it stuck in the past, subaru have moved with the times and started to produce cars for the wider market, the hatch is a prime example of them moving away from big spoilers and gold wheels!!

Performance bargain, yes its rivals are getting close and you don't need 4wd anymore with revo knuckle etc but you cannot get to Subaru performance figures for less money, new that is.

Rally wins, maybe not in WRC but in many other rally events/series around the globe Subaru are doing pretty well, apart from Honda that is where the Civic is top of the tree is all aspects of motorsport!

Oh and as for 33k, yes it is a lot of money but who cares, it does not matter how much it costs, as long as the buyer can afford it and is prepared to pay what they pay and loose what they loose who cares, its their choice, you cannot or are not willing to pay that much so don't get your nickers in a twist! No one is holding a gun to anyones head forcing them to buy a New STI.

Is a Bently overpriced at 170k and will it hold its value or loose 50k in 18 months, I imagine the answer is yes to both those questions so why not pop over to their forum and tell them they should be buying run of the mill cars and that Bently will be out of business in the UK in a few months!!!

No idea, and care even less ;)

I'll worry about that when I sell it in three years when the warranty runs out and it needs an MOT, same as I have done with its predecessors.
