Banditry Reversion to the mean
we're drinking less alcohol now than we did in 1900. and as for the minimum unit price on alcohol - its a smoke screen - its illegal under EU law, the Greeks tried it with tobacco and had to reverse it Happy to help with a few facts! :) |
A question to understand your facts - what would be the price of a UK pack of cigarettes without any government price control?
It may not be a minimum price - however pricing can easily be set by the use of excise duty of a licensed product. |
I have just read that link - whilst I cannot dispute his average consumption figures - I can only describe his conclusions that he offers as 'musings' as moronic.

I. but why is this yet again a sticking plaster approach by the government (and a revenue raiser, which to some extent it is)? . We need o tackle the social issues, not try for a quick fox that just won't work. , |
How can you convince the public to not be workshy, lazy, greedy, violent, sponging, negative, destructive, helpless, pathetic, self obsessed p1ssheads ?
