You obviously know a lot about cars  I can't think of any thing less exciting about that Merc that the auto box - really stirs the emotions! RS4 for me! |
I'd take the RS4... Just prefer Audi to the other two..
Then the Merc... Only the auto box puts me off... what an engine! Then the M3... Is prob the best car but comes last in the one I'd choose (makes no sense!). I honestly think the M3 is the best car but Clarkson had it spot on when they had the cockmeter up... fecking hilarious... but is the reason why I wouldn't take it. |
Note that the majority on here are going for the RS4 - Those who know the virtues and all round everyday capability of 4WD:thumb:
Merc (nice car that it is) = traction control king. BMW (high on the "cockometer") = iDrive,iDistracted then iCrash. |
So most of us would go for the RS4, we are educated after all. however if you had to chose an M3, which year would you go for? Not a fan of the new looking front end, and think the 2005 looks the best.
|
I'd probably go for an E30 M3... but thats a totally different thread. :)

RS4 for me! I just think that while the RS4 is a technically brilliant car, I don't think it has much character - which *I* think is very important with performance cars; give me a supercharged VXR8 over an RS4 please, yeah it has its flaws, yeah its a GM.. but.. its stupid and irresponsible - which is what a performance car should be :D. If you want a fast saloon then fine, buy an RS4, but it doesn't do anything for me I'm afraid - somewhere since the old Quattro days Audi had their soul sucked out by some VAG corporate monster. I was trying to be light hearted with my disagreement with just about everyone on the board with this topic. :) |
In this price range? The new GTR, then the Merc, then the RS4 and lastly the M3.

The pedants will argue that as the GTR only comes as a 2 door coupe its not a fair comparison... but I'd have one over an RS4 as well when the sole point of it is to go quickly :)

new v8 m3 without a doubt!
|
I'd have the M3, no wait, i'm seeing what they do with the CSL. If it ticks the boxes i'm having one of them
