but apart from that, all looking quite neat :thumb:

I think you have to tell it to remove them, it's an option i think somewhere.

davegtt 04 December 2007 03:25 PM

How did you manage to get it to work then? I did the update at dinner, chucked a CD in with an AVI movie and it wouldnt play...

DJ Dunk 04 December 2007 03:31 PM

I had a quick go earlier and all but one of my avi's worked perfectly even those with AAC audio. Fast forwarding and rewinding is great. Even streaming it fast forwards at 16x which is something Transcode lacked.

I thought it was supposed to display a jpeg too if named the same as the avi? Mine didn't work, spent ages setting them up at the weekend.

Also, when you play a file it plays in native resolution and you have to select full screen, any way to make it display full screen always?

Not tried via Media Centre yet.

Crap :(

18. Does the Xbox 360 support video artwork when browsing my collection from a USB 2.0 FAT32 removable drive or optical media? For all video types we will search for a corresponding .jpg file and use that as the artwork. For example video1.avi would display the artwork in video1.jpg if it existed. In the absence of this file, for the mp4 container, we will search if the video file has embedded album artwork and display that instead. Please note you cannot use this method when streaming from Windows Media Player 11 or the Zune PC software. See question number 21 for more information.

was using usb Hard drive. On first play it asked to download updated codec which was required for that particular file

Mine seems to play on 'normal' which is 4:3 so max height with side borders. Even upping to full screen keeps good quality so well happy with that and not really having to buy any other equipment now.

Lol oh yeah, i was tricked in to it, i got sent the link :Suspiciou

I see the first thing Neanderthal did when updating was to check his divx porn :D

As for clearing the 0 scores, it no longer adds new 0 scores to the gamertag (aka, the trial games played) I guess we just gotta live with the ones that are already there.

One last gamespot clicky before i boycott it, it's the story of Gerstmann's departure, check out the story tags on the right hand side half way down the news article :thumb:

They couldn't implement it through Media center because that is down to the Vista programmers, this was purely an update for the Xbox dashboard . We'll have to wait for them to update Vista Media center. Which will hopefully be sometime next year.
Now when will I get my Xbox back.

How big is each film? 25Gb? Need a bigger HD for those unless you have the elite then yeah?

StickyMicky 04 December 2007 11:41 PM

you can only watch them for 24 hours and then they need to be deleted, i think?

probably compressed as well?

thats a well raised point!

25gb seams a bit high, but i have never downloaded a hd film so i have no idea how big they are>?

Bravo2zero_sps 04 December 2007 11:57 PM

Can't see how thats going to work with UK ISP's having ridiculously low bandwidth allowances. As of January mines being reduced to 20gb per month ffs, not even enough for one film at those sizes!

bob269 05 December 2007 01:33 AM

You have 14 days to watch it, but as soon as you do start watching it you have 24hrs to finish it, they are compressed, it will be interesting to see what sort of quality they are.

Renting from a video shop has to be returned in 24hrs so at least this way you get 2 weeks to find the time :)

the compressed HD is approx 5.7gig per 130mins and SD 1.7gig. As per usual the US choice of titles is much better than ours

Well, DivX works and I'm happy! It'll even read files from a USB stick.

The only thing I need to do now is sort out the streaming from my PC as it is choppy and slow.
